Reviewing Clinique’s 96-Hour Hydro-Filler Concentrate

The skin around our eyes is incredibly delicate, and it’s usually the first place to show signs of stress, dehydration, and fatigue. We all know the feeling. You look in the mirror mid-afternoon (or first thing in the morning after a late night), and your eyes look tired. I first tried Clinique Moisture Surge Eye 96-Hour Hydro-Filler Concentrate when I got a free sample and I instantly got amazed by its effectiveness from the very first use.

First Impressions: Light, Fresh, and Airy

The moment you pump this out, you notice it’s different from a traditional heavy eye cream. The texture is a lightweight, gel-like serum that feels incredibly refreshing on the skin. It glides on like a dream and absorbs almost instantly, no sticky residue, no greasiness. It’s the kind of product that feels like a drink of water for your under-eyes.

The Star Ingredients: A Dynamic Duo

So, what’s actually inside this magic pump? Clinique packed this with some serious heavy-hitters.

  • Niacinamide (Vitamin B3): This is a skincare superstar. It’s fantastic for brightening the skin and evening out tone. For the eye area, this means it helps tackle those dark circles over time, working to make the skin look more radiant and less dull.
  • Caffeine: Caffeine isn’t just for your morning coffee; it’s a powerhouse in skincare. It’s known for its ability to help de-puff and reduce the look of under-eye bags, while also giving the skin a little pick-me-up.
  • Moisture Surge Technology: True to its name, this contains activated aloe water and hyaluronic acid to drench the skin in hydration.

Price & Quantity: Is It Worth It?

The Clinique Moisture Surge Eye 96-Hour Hydro-Filler Concentrate typically retails for around INR 3950 for 15 ml. Now, I know what you’re thinking; that might seem like a splurge for a tiny tube. But here’s the thing, a little goes a very long way with this stuff. Because of its lightweight, serum-like consistency, you only need one tiny pump to cover both eyes. At that rate, this tube is going to last you a solid 3 to 4 months, even with twice-daily use.

Texture & Consistency: A Gel That Disappears

If you are sensitive to heavy textures, this is your new best friend. The texture is unlike any thick, buttery eye cream you’ve tried.

It’s a semi-translucent, bouncy gel that feels almost weightless. As soon as it touches your skin, it has a slight cooling effect (which is amazing for de-puffing in the morning). It spreads like a dream and sinks in within seconds, leaving absolutely zero greasy residue behind. It creates a smooth, velvety base that makeup sits perfectly on top of.

The “96-Hour” Claim: Does It Hold Up?

Let’s address the big promise: 96-Hour Hydration.

It sounds almost too good to be true, right? I have to say, the “Hydro-Filler” part of the name is accurate. This serum acts like a sponge. It visibly plumps the skin, which in turn helps to soften the look of fine lines and crepiness (you know, that crinkly texture we all dread).

While I can’t scientifically measure my hydration levels over four days, I can tell you that with daily use (morning and night), my under-eyes look consistently bouncier and smoother. It creates a perfect base for concealer, too, no more cakey, settling into fine lines by lunchtime.

How to Use It

The best part? It’s foolproof.

  1. Cleanse your face.
  2. Pump a tiny amount onto your fingertip. (A little goes a long way!)
  3. Gently pat it around the entire eye contour, including the orbital bone. Patting (not rubbing) helps stimulate circulation and prevents tugging on the skin.

You can use it morning and night. In the AM, it wakes your eyes up for makeup. In the PM, it works overtime to replenish moisture while you sleep.

My Take: The Final Verdict

If you are looking for an eye product that feels modern, lightweight, and effective, the Clinique Moisture Surge Eye 96-Hour Hydro-Filler Concentrate is a winner. I also love the packaging. This stylish, sleek pump bottle screams luxe. It is travel-friendly too.

Who is it for?

  • The Texture-Haters: Those who hate heavy, thick creams that sit on top of the skin.
  • The Dehydrated: Anyone dealing with dryness, crepey texture, or dehydration lines.
  • The Puffy: People looking to brighten and de-puff in the mornings (thanks to the Niacinamide and Caffeine combo).

Who might skip it?
If you have extremely dry, mature skin that craves a rich, oily balm to feel comfortable, you might find this too light. This is hydration-focused, not heavy moisturization.

For me? I’m obsessed. It proves that you don’t need a thick, greasy product to get serious results. Sometimes, a tall, cool drink of water (in serum form) is exactly what the doctor ordered.

The Great Glow-Up: La Roche-Posay Mela B3 vs. Caudalie Vinoperfect Serum

We’ve all been there. You do everything right, you wear SPF, you don’t pick at your skin and yet, those pesky little dark spots just refuse to leave the party.

If you are currently on a mission to erase those spots and get that even, “glass skin” tone, you’ve probably got two heavy-hitters on your radar: the La Roche-Posay Mela B3 Dark Spot Corrector and the Caudalie Vinoperfect Concentrated Brightening Serum. I’ve tested both so you don’t have to choose blindly. Let’s break it down!

Price & Quantity:

Let’s get straight to the numbers, because skincare is an investment, and we love a good value.

  • La Roche-Posay Mela B3 Serum: This usually retails for around INR 3300 for 30ml . It is widely available at Nykaa and surprisingly at Apollo Pharmacy.
  • Caudalie Vinoperfect Serum: This one is a splurge. It typically costs INR 6250 for 30ml . You’ll find this at Sephora, Nykaa, Tira, SS beauty.

Winner: La Roche-Posay. Unless you get a great discount, LRP is much kinder to your bank account, especially for a long-term treatment.

Texture & Feel: The Sensory Experience

Here is how they feel on the skin.

  • La Roche-Posay: This has a lightweight, gel texture. It absorbs fast. Really fast. It leaves a velvety, matte finish that sits beautifully under moisturizer and sunscreen. If you have combo or oily skin, you will probably adore how this feels. It’s very no-fuss.
  • Caudalie: This is what I’d call a “soft milky” texture but it is thin, fresh, and hydrating. It feels more like a splash of essence than a heavy serum. It sinks in within seconds and leaves your skin feeling bouncy and quenched. Dry skin types will find this very soothing.

Winner: Tie. It really depends on your mood! LRP for a matte primer-like feel, Caudalie for a refreshing drink of water.

The Main Event: How They Fade Spots

This is what we came for. They use different ingredients to achieve the same goal.

  • La Roche-Posay Mela B3: This serum is a targeted treatment. It uses a high concentration of Melasyl (their proprietary molecule) to target dark spots at the source, combined with Niacinamide (Vitamin B3). It’s designed specifically to tackle stubborn discoloration, whether from the sun or old acne scars. It’s clinical and effective.
  • Caudalie Vinoperfect: This one is a brightening all-rounder. Its key ingredient is Viniferine, which is extracted from grapevine sap. Studies show it’s super effective at evening out skin tone. It’s gentler than the LRP and focuses more on overall radiance and preventing future spots while fading current ones.

My Take: Who is each serum for?

Pick the La Roche-Posay Mela B3 if:

  • You have specific, stubborn dark spots you want to erase (like that one mark that’s been there for months).
  • You have oily or combination skin.
  • You want a budget-friendly option that doesn’t skimp on science.
  • You prefer a “treatment-first” approach.

Pick the Caudalie Vinoperfect if:

  • You want an “all-over glow” and your skin is looking a bit dull or tired.
  • You have dry or sensitive skin (it’s very soothing).
  • You love the luxury experience (the smell is subtle).

Conclusion: The Final Verdict

Here is the honest truth: You really can’t go wrong with either. They are both fantastic products from brands that know their stuff.

However, if I had to pick one to recommend based on performance and value, I’d say:

If your main concern is blasting away dark spots, start with the La Roche-Posay Mela B3. It’s affordable, effective, and plays well with other products. It’s the hardworking employee of the skincare world.

If you have the budget and want a luxurious, glow-boosting experience that also fades spots as a side quest, go for the Caudalie. It makes your skin look like you just went on a vacation.

My New Holy Grail Sunscreen? A Quick Review of Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Aqua-fresh

Hey there! Let’s be honest, finding the sunscreen, the one you actually look forward to wearing every single day, can feel like a never-ending quest. It needs to be protective, non-irritating, play well with makeup, and not feel like a greasy mask. A lot of expectations, right?

Well, after seeing a lot of good reviews online (seriously, it’s a K-beauty superstar), I had to try the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Aqua-fresh: Rice + Probiotics (SPF50+ PA++++). Did it live up to the hype? Let’s dive in!

A Little Bit About Beauty of Joseon
Before we get to the product, I love the brand’s backstory. Beauty of Joseon takes inspiration from the skincare routines of the Joseon Dynasty era in Korea, known for its elegant and simple beauty principles. They focus on harnessing traditional, skin-loving ingredients (like rice, ginseng, and green tea) and combining them with modern science. It’s all about effective, gentle, and elegant formulations. A+ for concept!

Price & Quantity
This sunscreen is a total sweet spot in terms of affordability. You get a 50ml tube for around INR 1570 at Nykaa, however, you will almost always get it at a 10-20% discount depending on where you shop. While it’s not drugstore-cheap, it’s incredibly reasonable for a high-quality, high-SPF Korean sunscreen. Even with generous application, one tube lasts me a good couple of months with daily use.

The Texture & Sensation (The Best Part!)
Okay, this is where the magic happens. If you hate thick, white, sticky sunscreens, prepare to be amazed.

  • Consistency: It’s a lightweight, milky lotion. It glides onto the skin effortlessly.
  • Absorption: It sinks in incredibly fast. I’m talking seconds. There’s zero white cast (a godsend for all skin tones), and it doesn’t leave a shiny film.
  • Finish: It leaves the most beautiful, dewy-but-not-greasy finish. It feels like a soothing, hydrating serum rather than a sunscreen. It does justice to the “aqua-fresh” part! My skin just feels plump and happy.
  • Scent: There’s a faint, clean, almost rice-y scent that disappears immediately. It’s fragrance-free in the traditional sense, so it’s great for sensitive noses.

My Personal Take: The Good & The “Meh”
The Love:

  1. Invisible & Comfortable: This is its superpower. I forget I’m wearing it, which is the highest compliment I can give a sunscreen.
  2. Hydration Hero: With ingredients like rice bran water (brightening) and B5 (panthenol, for soothing), it doubles as a moisturizing layer. On lazy mornings, I sometimes skip moisturizer and just use this.
  3. Perfect Makeup Base: It doesn’t pill under any of my products—foundation, tinted moisturizer, you name it. The slightly dewy finish gives makeup a healthy glow from within.
  4. Gentle: My combination, sometimes fussy skin has had zero issues with it. It’s calming and never stings my eyes.

The Considerations:

  • For Oily Skin Friends: If you have very oily skin, the dewy finish might be too dewy for you. You might prefer a more matte sunscreen or need to set it with a little powder.
  • Water Resistance: It’s not marketed as water- or sweat-resistant. So while it’s perfect for daily, city-life wear, I’d opt for something more tenacious for a beach day or intense workout.

Final Verdict
The Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun has earned a permanent spot on my shelf. It has successfully removed the chore from sunscreen application. It’s a phenomenal daily sunscreen that focuses on skin health, comfort, and wearability.

Who it’s for: Anyone looking for an elegant, gentle, high-protection daily sunscreen. It’s especially great for dry, combination, normal, and sensitive skin types.

Who might skip: Those seeking a fully matte finish or a sport/water-resistant formula.

Ultimately, if you’ve been curious about the K-beauty sunscreen hype, this is a fantastic, no-regrets place to start. It just makes sun protection feel good.

Have you tried it? What’s your holy grail sunscreen? Let me know in the comments!

Versed Doctor’s Visit Instant Resurfacing Mask Review

Let’s face it: some of us want spa-level skin results without the spa-level effort (or cost). Let me introduce you to a little yellow miracle in a jar—the Versed Instant Resurfacing Mask for a quick effortless spa-level glow-up.

This popular pick from the minimalist-meets-effective skincare brand Versed has been buzzing around the beauty world, and I finally decided to give it a whirl (and a sniff).

Let’s break it down.

What Is It?

Name: Versed The Shortcut Instant Resurfacing Mask
Price: Approx. ₹1750 INR / $17 USD
Star Ingredients: Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Pineapple + Papaya Enzymes, Vitamin E
Skin Type: All, but especially dull, rough, or uneven skin
Use Frequency: 1–3 times per week (2 minutes is enough!)

This is a chemical exfoliation mask designed to deliver baby-smooth, glassy skin without stripping or irritating. And if your skin gets fussy (hi, sensitive skin gang), you’ll be happy to know it’s fragrance-free, vegan, and cruelty-free.

What’s Inside the Jar?

The ingredient list reads like the skincare version of a green smoothie:

  • Lactic Acid & Glycolic Acid (AHAs) – gently melt away dead skin cells
  • Pineapple & Papaya Enzymes – natural fruit enzymes that brighten and exfoliate
  • Vitamin E – nourishes and soothes
  • Aloe Vera – calms redness and irritation

It’s basically a chemical peel-lite for people who want results but don’t want to go through all the pain and also the pocket pinch.

Texture & Application

It has a smooth, creamy, jelly-like consistency—kind of like lemon curd but for your face (do not eat, please). It’s lightweight, spreads evenly, and doesn’t drip or dry tight.

Apply it to clean, dry skin and let it sit for just 2 minutes. Yes, TWO MINUTES—just enough time to check your emails or rehearse your “I’m totally awake” face before your 9 AM call.

A slight tingle is normal (and expected), but if it starts to feel like fire ants are salsa dancing on your face wash it off. I recommend a patch test.

The Aftermath: How Does Skin Feel?

Here’s the real deal: after just one use, my skin felt smoother, looked brighter, and had that facial vibe. Makeup glided on like a dream the next day.

But the real magic happens after using it regularly for a few weeks:

  • Pores looked smaller (still there, but smaller!)
  • My skin tone evened out
  • Texture? What texture?

It genuinely made my skin feel like it had gone through a mini-renovation. Not bad for a 2-minute mask you can use while your coffee brews.

Who Should Use This?

If any of the below sound like you, add it to cart:

  • You have dull, rough, or uneven skin
  • You want quick exfoliation but hate scrubs
  • You’re a skincare minimalist who loves effective multitaskers
  • You’ve been too scared to try “chemical exfoliation” but want to start gentle

However, if you have very sensitive skin or active acne, patch test first! It’s a potent mix of AHAs and enzymes, so don’t go slathering it on like a moisturizer.

Tips for First-Time Users:

  1. Patch test behind your ear or jawline before first use
  2. Use at night and always follow with SPF the next day (your fresh skin is vulnerable!)
  3. Avoid other exfoliants (scrubs, retinol, etc.) the same day
  4. Don’t overdo it—1–2 times a week is more than enough
  5. Moisturize well afterward—your skin just did a workout

Pros & Cons

✅ Pros:

  • Super fast (2 minutes and done)
  • Immediate glow and long-term skin texture improvement
  • Non-irritating for most skin types
  • Affordable and clean formula
  • Great for travel or lazy girl skincare days

⚠️ Cons:

  • Can be too strong for ultra-sensitive skin
  • Might not show dramatic results after just one use (be patient!)
  • Slight tingling can be uncomfortable for first-timers

Science-Backed? Yep!

This isn’t just influencer hype. The blend of AHAs and enzymes is backed by dermatological science. Chemical exfoliants like lactic and glycolic acids break down the “glue” holding dead skin cells together, promoting turnover and giving you that glass skin look.

And because it’s rinse-off, there’s less chance of irritation compared to leave-on peels.

Is It Clean Beauty Approved?

Absolutely. Versed is part of the clean, vegan, cruelty-free beauty movement. No parabens, no silicones, no added fragrance. Just effective ingredients in simple packaging.

Also, brownie points for being available at drugstore prices but delivering department store results.

Final Verdict: 9.5/10

This little jar packs a punch. For the price, ingredients, and speed of results, it’s one of the best exfoliating masks in its category. While it’s not a miracle in a bottle (is anything?), it’s pretty dang close for those of us battling dullness, texture, or uneven skin tone.

Would I repurchase? Already have. Would I gift it? I have. Would I wear it to my wedding day? Probably not, but I would use it the night before.

An Honest Review of Anua Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Serum: Glow Goals or Nah?

Let’s talk about something we’ve all been chasing since our teen years—clear, even-toned, glassy skin. If you’ve ever stared at your reflection and muttered “Why is my face a patchwork quilt?”, this one’s for you.

Enter: the Anua Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Serum. Yep, that’s a mouthful. But is it worth a spot in your skincare lineup? I tried it for two weeks straight, and here’s the good, the glowy review.

A hand holding a box of Anua Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Serum, showcasing its sleek packaging design with the product name and size prominently displayed.

The Price Tag

Depending on where you buy it, it usually retails around ₹1800–₹2000 (~$20–25 USD) for 30ml. Not drugstore-cheap, but definitely not wallet-shattering either. And considering the ingredients? It’s pretty darn reasonable. In India, it is available on Nykaa.

Ingredients Breakdown:

  • Niacinamide 10% – A skincare classic. Known for minimizing pores, evening skin tone, strengthening the skin barrier, and basically making you glow like you slept 8 hours (even if you didn’t).
  • TXA (Tranexamic Acid) 4% – A powerful brightening agent. This acid is your hyperpigmentation’s worst nightmare. Great for fading dark spots, acne scars, and melasma.

Together, these two form a brightening dream team. Think of Niacinamide as the chill, hardworking employee and TXA as the overachiever who quietly handles all the tough stuff.

A hand holding a bottle of Anua Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Serum, showcasing its sleek and modern packaging.

First Impressions

Let’s start with the packaging: sleek, minimal, and no-frills—basically the skincare equivalent of a white T-shirt. It’s giving “I’m not like other serums. I’m focused.”

The texture? Lightweight and watery-serum-ish. Not sticky, not oily. It sinks in faster. One pump covers your whole face, and it layers beautifully under moisturizer and sunscreen.

Smell? None. Which is chef’s kiss because nobody asked for perfume in a brightening serum.

A close-up image of a hand with a drop of clear serum sitting on the skin against a plain white background.

The Experience: Week by Week

Week 1: The Calm Before the Glow

My skin felt a bit irritated on the first two days. There was slight redness. I got a bit scared and waited for two more days before applying again. Since the third day the redness disappeared. Skin felt slightly smoother and a bit more even in tone. No irritation. No drama. Just polite skincare behavior.

Week 2: Pore-less Possibilities

That subtle inner glow started peeking through. A few acne scars on my cheek started lightening (not gone yet, but noticeably faded). Also, my skin looked less “meh” in the morning.

What’s the Catch?

Okay, it’s not perfect.

  • Not hydrating enough on its own. You’ll need to pair it with a good moisturizer, especially if you’re dry or combo.
  • If your skin is very sensitive, patch test first—10% niacinamide can be a bit intense for some.
  • It’s more of a slow burn than a “wake up and see magic” type of serum.

Who Should Use It?

This serum is a recommended option for:

  • People struggling with hyperpigmentation, PIH, or melasma
  • Oily-to-combination skin types
  • Beginners in actives who want a powerful yet gentle brightening boost

Maybe not ideal for:

  • Super dry skin (unless paired with a hydrating routine)
  • Ultra-sensitive skin types who react to niacinamide

Final Verdict: Add to Cart?

Yes, if you want a glow-up that’s subtle, steady, and sustainable.
No, if you want instant results or if your skin gets cranky with active ingredients.

Rating: 4.5/5 — deducted half a point for the slow pace, but this is one of those serums that wins the long game.

Let me share your thoughts in the comments section if you have tried this serum 🙂

Chanel N°5 Eau De Parfum Spray – Review

After nearly a year of silence, my blog’s cursor blinks back at me like an old friend. Life happened, time slipped, but the words never really left me. So, here I am with my reviews on a few cool products I tried. Hope you are going to like it 🙂

Background & Legacy

Chanel No. 5 is not just a perfume — it’s a cultural icon. Launched in 1921 by Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel and perfumer Ernest Beaux, it was the first fragrance to bear a designer’s name. Its revolutionary use of aldehydes and abstract floral notes broke away from the traditional single-flower scents of the time. With endorsements by legends like Marilyn Monroe, who famously claimed to wear “nothing but Chanel No. 5 to bed”, it has solidified its place as the epitome of luxury and timelessness.

Chanel No. 5 EDP Review

Scent Profile

Top Notes:

  • Aldehydes
  • Neroli
  • Ylang-Ylang
  • Bergamot
  • Lemon

The opening is instantly recognizable: sparkling, soapy aldehydes that create a clean, effervescent impression — almost like champagne bubbles. The citrus adds freshness, while the ylang-ylang contributes a slightly spicy floral touch.

Heart Notes:

  • Iris
  • Jasmine
  • Rose
  • Lily of the Valley

The heart is undeniably floral, with a rich, velvety blend. Jasmine from Grasse — specially cultivated for Chanel — stands out, along with powdery iris and the romantic softness of rose. This bouquet is abstract, meaning no one flower dominates; instead, they blend into something luxurious and harmonious.

Base Notes:

  • Sandalwood
  • Vetiver
  • Vanilla
  • Amber
  • Musk
  • Patchouli

The dry-down is warm, sensual, and elegant. The creamy sandalwood and vanillic amber give it depth and staying power, while the vetiver and musk ground it. It evolves over time from fresh and bright to a powdery, warm skin scent that lingers beautifully.

Chanel No 5 EDP Review

Longevity: ★★★★☆

Chanel No. 5 EDP typically lasts almost 8 hours on my skin, sometimes more. I have not tried the EDT but I think the Parfum version has even better longevity and sillage.

Projection/Sillage: ★★★★☆

Moderate to strong in the first few hours. It leaves a noticeable but sophisticated trail — assertive, but never cloying or aggressive.

Packaging: ★★★★★

The bottle is a masterpiece of minimalist design: rectangular, clean lines, and an elegant typeface. It reflects Coco Chanel’s philosophy of simplicity and class. The weight of the glass add to its luxury feel.

When & Where to Wear:

  • Occasions: Formal events, evenings, romantic dates, professional settings
  • Season: Year-round, though the richness shines best in fall/winter or cooler spring evenings
  • Mood: Sophisticated, classic, confident

Chanel No. 5 is not a casual or playful scent — it’s commanding, refined, and best suited for occasions where you want to feel polished and empowered.

Price & Quantity:

It is available on Nykaa and on the official Chanel website. In India it is retailing for Rs 11950 and Rs 16750 for a 50 ml and 100 ml bottle respectively.

Who Is It For?

While traditionally marketed toward mature women, Chanel No. 5 can be worn by anyone who appreciates classic, floral-aldehydic compositions. It is not a youthful, trendy scent — it’s for those who appreciate heritage, artistry, and elegance in perfumery. So, if you are under 30, I would not recommend this.

Pros

  • Iconic and historically significant
  • Complex, layered composition
  • Long-lasting and refined
  • Luxurious bottle and packaging
  • A statement of class and confidence

Cons

  • Not for everyone: can feel “old-fashioned” to some due to aldehydes
  • Pricey, especially in Parfum concentration
  • May clash with very casual settings
  • Over-application can be overwhelming

Final Verdict: 8/10

Chanel No. 5 is a masterpiece of modern perfumery. It’s timeless, elegant, and daring in its structure — a bold olfactory abstraction that changed the perfume industry forever. While it might not be love at first sniff for everyone, it’s a fragrance that grows on you with age and appreciation. Owning a bottle feels like owning a piece of fashion and cultural history.

  • Scoop the patch with a spoon and apply it to fit the shape of your eye.
  • Take off the patch after taking a light rest with a cool feeling for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Gently massage the area after use.
  • Wrap up with a moisturizer if necessary.

Note: This product is a hydrogel type. Be cautious as it may tear off if handled roughly when applied. You can keep it in the refrigerator for an enhanced cooling effect.

My Take on the Petitfee Gold Hydrogel Eye Patch:

Packaging: They come in a plastic golden tub with a small spatula to take out the product. I store it in my refrigerator for that extra cooling effect. It contains 60 very thin films of eye patch. It may get teared apart while taking out. So, be careful. The patches are super slimy and has a gold shimmery effect.

Ingredients: They contain fragrance. I don’t understand the need of it. I couldn’t smell much of it though. I am not sure of the 24k gold part but overall they contain a lot of hydrating ingredients.

Texture: The eye patches are soaked in a slimy hydrating liquid. I put on the masks and also slowly without any pressure blend the liquid around my eyes. I keep it on for maximum 20 minutes and it leaves a visibly hydrated and bright under-eye area.

Am I going to repurchase this? This is more like a good to have product for self-care. I will probably try out some other eye patches in future but these are also not bad.

Have you tried any other eye-patches? Let me know in the comments section.

Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream – Review

Hello! Here I am with another review of one of the very popular Korean skincare product. I have heard a lot of good reviews about the beauty of Joseon products. A little history here. Beauty of Joseon is a brand that has reinterpreted the unchanging beauty and the traditional methods from nature in a modern way according to the wisdom of Joseon women. Based on the ‘Gyuhap Chongseo’, 100-year-old book which is referred to as the encyclopedia of the Joseon Dynasty, they have included the beauty methods of women from, the uppermost classes of the Joseon Dynasty.People of the Joseon Dynasty regarded flashy adornment to be obscene and low class. As a result, women from, noble families put on makeup with minimal colors and focused more on creating clean and clear skin rather than on applying makeup and adorning themselves. Well, even now Korean products are more focused on creating clean and clear skin. This is what I love about them.

Anyway I have tried the famous ‘Dynasty’ cream from Beauty of Joseon and I am wondering why I didn’t purchase this earlier! Okay, so let me tell you all about it.

Price and Quantity:

The dynasty cream is widely available on Tira, Amazon and on Nykaa. The printed MRP is around Rs 2050 for a 50ml tub but I found it at 10% discount on Tira beauty.

Product Description:

From the brand page, “This all-in-one cream is filled with good-for-skin ingredients like rice bran water, ginseng water, squalane, and niacinamide. These ingredients help to keep your skin healthy, hydrated, and balanced. Its firm texture sinks into your skin, providing moisture and nourishment from deep within.

Long-lasting moisture
Enriched with 2% niacinamide and 2% squalane, it balances oil and moisture and protects skin from external stimuli.

Subtle glow finish
This cream provides a gentle, glowy finish.
It creates a natural and healthy glow when used with foundation.

Key ingredients

Rice bran water 29%

My Take on the Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream:

Packaging: Completely fuss free simple packaging. It comes in a white transparent glass tub with a white lid. There is a small spatula to help you take out the product.

Ingredients: The first 4 primary ingredients are water, rice bran water, glycerin and ginseng root water. Just looking at this ingredient list I can say that the focus is on hydration and locking moisture in the skin. It also contains 2% niacinamide and 2% squalene which are again quite nice on the ingredient list. It is a fragrance free product too.

Texture: It has a velvety, creamy texture which feels really luxurious on the skin. It gets absorbed easily without making my skin oily. It blends very easily and can be used as a moisturizing primer. It instantly gives a glow after application! My skin looks nourished and hydrated. I have applied it as a night cream and every morning when I wake up my skin feels amazingly smooth and soft after using this.

Am I going to repurchase this? Absolutely yes! For oily skin beauties finding a good balanced moisturizer is really hard! This one will work for dry, combination and oily skin people across the year. Maybe if you have super dry skin, I will not recommend it for winter but it can be a good product for summer.

Jo Malone London English Pear & Freesia Cologne – Review

If you have read my review of the Wood Sage and Sea Salt cologne of Jo Malone, then you must know how much I love this luxury brand. The USP of Jo Malone’s colognes are that they all carry the freshest, unique and elegant aura about them. One thing about a good perfume is that it always gives a little boost to your confidence and makes you feel good about yourself. I feel that most of the Jo Malone colognes that I have tried, all of them had that kind of quality to be a signature scent. The Jo Malone English Pear and Freesia is not an exception either. I got a trial version of this one when I purchased a full bottle of the Wood Sage and Sea Salt cologne and decided to buy it instantly. So, finally I have added the travel version (30ml) of the English Pear and Freesia cologne to my collection.

Price and Quantity:

The Jo Malone London English Pear and Freesia Cologne comes in 2 sizes, 30 ml and 100 ml. They cost Rs 5900 and Rs 11800 respectively. I bought the 30 ml bottle from Tira. Got a good discount of around Rs 1000. They are available on Nykaa too.

My take on the Jo Malone London English Pear & Freesia Cologne:

Jo Malone is a luxury British brand known for their colognes, candles and bath and body products. Interestingly all their fragrances are actually colognes. They do not sell EDTs or EDPs as far as I know. I read that although their products are all Eau de Colognes, the percentage of perfume oil is somewhere in between EDT and EDPs. However, after using it I beg to disagree with this information. More on this later. I got a some sample vials of their other EDCs too and I felt their fragrance profile is very unique and delicate. Something which is very fresh and airy and uplifts your mood instantly. They have the potential to be your signature scent. They have body-creams, body and handwashes based on each of their fragrance profiles so that we can layer them up to have a long lasting impact.

Their packaging is very classy and minimalistic. All the EDCs have silver metallic cap with a transparent glass body. Only the ‘intense’ variation of their colognes come in a black or dark chocolate bottles. The outer packaging has their signature cream and black box, tied with a black luxurious ribbon.

Now coming to the English Pear & Freesia Cologne, the fragrance makes me feel instantly energized. It is quite different compared to the woodsage and sea salt cologne. It has a sweet, ripe fruity punch to it along with the freshness of delicate Freesia. There is a hint of Patchouli but not too overpowering. It has definitely a young feminine vibe, so, I would not call it a unisex cologne. I prefer to wear it during daytime. It is perfect for office wear as well as for a day out. It can be worn all year round but I think this is more suitable as a spring-summer wear.

This cologne does not have the main problem that I faced with the woodsage and seasalt cologne, its horribly less staying power. It has outshined most of the perfumes in this category. It stays for hours on my skin and on my clothes and I can smell it for days.

I really loved this scent. Its juicy yet delicate fragrance makes me a happy soul and instantly gives me a mood boost. If you have tried this cologne, please let me know your views in the comments section.

Chloé Nomade Eau De Perfume – The Peach Diary Review

Hi everyone, posting here after a long break. I have tried out quite a few excellent products during this time and wanted to share my honest opinions on these. So, let’s start with a sweet fragrant one, the Chloé Nomade EDP. This EDP has really surprised me as it was a blind buy. I didn’t know much about this brand but I took a shot reading about some of the reviews and I must say I didn’t make a mistake. The Chloé Nomade EDP is available on Nykaa and on Tira.

Chloé is a French luxury brand which was founded in Paris in 1952. They are originally a luxury fashion brand. Their Chloé perfume is a popular classic around the world. Only carefully selected and high-quality ingredients are used for the production of a Chloé fragrance. This guarantees a premium-quality product and an unforgettable fragrance experience.

Price and Quantity:

The Chloé Nomade EDP comes in 2 sizes, 50 ml and 75 ml. They cost Rs 7850 and Rs 10200 respectively. I bought it from Tira on a good discount (around Rs 1000 off). I bought the 50 ml version and this is going to last me quite long.

Ingredients:

Alcohol Denat., Aqua/Water/Eau, Parfum/Fragrance, Linalool, Limonene, Geraniol, Coumarin, Eugenol, Citral, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate.

Description:

Top Note of this cologne is Mirabelle plum. Heart Note is Freesia. Base Note is Oak moss. The intense, mineral character of the oak moss is shrouded in the voluptuous sweetness of the mirabelle plum. From this freshness emanates a sensation of flowery luminescence carried by freesia. These natural ingredients, brought together by perfumer Quentin Bisch, are highlighted by exhilarating harmonies-just like the feeling of escape, they inspire.

The woody fragrance is a mix of softness and strength: the facets of this floral chypre blow like the winds of freedom. The Chloe woman carries with her a freedom and an immutable, natural elegance. Confident, inspiring, she flourishes through her experiences and encounters, asserting who she is without ever imposing it. This inner strength leads her to embrace otherness. Her gaze turns to other horizons, her energy propels her towards new faces. At this very moment, in this light, facing the unknown, she embodies all the world’s possibilities and this bond to others that erases borders. She leaves in her wake, a fragrance that defines her everywhere she goes, in every place she travels. A perfume in her image … Nomad, just like her.

My take on the Chloé Nomade Eau De Parfum:

Packaging: The glass bottle is very classy, feminine and oozes sophistication. It embodies a signature romantic Parisian elegance. It comes with a golden cap with a tiny leather ribbon around it giving it a look of a prized possession on my dressing table.

Fragrance: The fragrance will make your presence felt wherever you go. It is not super sweet, fruity nor intensely woody but it hovers around somewhere in between being sugary floral with a woody undertone. My husband says whenever he smells it on me, he gets transported to the streets of Paris. Now that is something because he has a sensitive nose and any strong fragrance gives him a headache. Chloé has managed to strike a fine balance between freshness from freesia and the sweet floral essence of the Mirabelle plum along with the intense woody character of the Oak Moss. Overall I can certainly say it smells ‘Different’. It is not something you come across frequently. The perfume exudes confidence of a modern strong woman and this is why it has become my go to choice whenever I need to make an impression.

Performance: Another full marks in the longevity/performance category. It lasts long. I could smell it on my clothes days after I have sprayed it on. Even on my skin it lasts the whole day. I can wear it on a humid day or in monsoon, it stays on. Super happy with the performance.

Did I like it? Absolutely 100% and I already know that this is going to be one of the permanents in my collection (if they continue to make it of course). The scent is very charming and make me feel good about myself. The lasting power is amazing. Of course this is not cheap and it should not be either. However, it is not as expensive as some of the big names in the fragrance domain and it still delivers better than a lot of them. I would give it a 5 out of 5.
