The Moroccanoil Trio: Treatment Oil, Repair Shampoo & Treatment Mist Reviewed

I have seen Moroccanoil popping up whenever I opened Nykaa and Tira websites, but I felt they were very expensive and somehow did not feel the urge to try any of their products. Anyway i had a few reward points saved up and though of giving the treatment Mist a try. Surprisingly, I received two deluxe samples of the shampoo and the oil-free. Here’s how each one earned (or didn’t quite earn) its spot in my shower and vanity.

The Quick Take

The Treatment Oil is the icon for a reason: it’s the finishing step that makes everything else look more expensive. The Moisture Repair Shampoo is a genuinely good, if unremarkable, sulfate-free cleanse. The Treatment Mist is the newest addition and the one I reach for on the days I can’t be bothered to deal with oil on my palms and for its heavenly aroma.

Moroccanoil Treatment (Original Oil)

Price & Quantity

₹4,320 for the 100ml bottle. This is the priciest of the three, and it comes across in the ingredient list and the sheer intensity of the results. I tried the free version though :p

Ingredients

It’s a short list, which is part of the point: Cyclomethicone and Dimethicone (silicones that do the heavy lifting for shine and slip), Argan Kernel Oil, Fragrance, and Linseed Seed Extract, with two cosmetic colorants (Red 17 and Yellow 11) giving the oil its signature golden-amber tint. This is very much a silicone-forward formula with argan oil playing a supporting, rather than starring, role which is worth knowing if you were expecting something closer to a pure oil.

Texture

This is genuinely one of the most weightless “oils” I’ve used. A couple of drops rubbed between palms and run through mid-lengths to ends disappear completely. No greasy sheen, no heavy weigh-down, just an immediate glass-like shine. It also noticeably cuts down blow-dry time, which is the kind of thing you don’t believe until you time yourself.

My Take

This is the product that made Moroccanoil a household name, and using it, it’s obvious why. It’s the finishing touch that makes my hair look salon-fresh on a random Tuesday. My only real gripe is the price-to-quantity ratio. At this cost per ml, I’ve started rationing it for post-wash and special-occasion use rather than an everyday step, which somewhat defeats the “use it daily” instructions on the bottle.

Moroccanoil Moisture Repair Shampoo

Price & Quantity

₹2,160 for the 250ml bottle (a 70ml travel size is available too, at ₹1,120, a fairly steep price per ml if you’re just sampling).

Ingredients

This is a sulfate-, phosphate-, and paraben-free formula built around gentler surfactants like Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate and Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, with Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine and Cocamide MEA rounding out the cleansing base. The “repair” claims come from Argan Kernel Oil and Avocado Oil for fatty acids, plus Silk Amino Acids, Hydrolyzed Keratin, and Keratin Amino Acids for protein reinforcement. Rosemary, Lavender, Jojoba, and Chamomile extracts are added in smaller, more supporting-cast amounts.

Texture

It’s a fairly standard lotion-textured shampoo. not the thick, gel-like consistency some “repair” shampoos go for. It lathers moderately (sulfate-free formulas usually do), and rinses clean without that slightly waxy after-feel some silicone-heavy conditioning shampoos leave behind.

My Take

This is a solid, dependable shampoo rather than a showstopper. It cleans well without stripping, and my hair definitely feels softer coming out of the shower than with my regular drugstore shampoo. But if I’m honest, at this price point I expected to feel a bigger difference. It’s good, not transformative, and the real “repair” work in this routine is coming from the Treatment Oil layered on top, not the shampoo itself.

Moroccanoil Treatment Mist

Price & Quantity

₹4320 for the 100 ml bottle. Obviously, it is very expensive, but I enjoyed using it the most among the three. It smells heavenly.

Ingredients

Where the original oil leans on Cyclomethicone and Dimethicone, the Mist swaps in Isododecane and Trisiloxane as its lightweight carrier silicones, blended with Argan Kernel Oil, Linseed Seed Extract, Rice Bran Extract, Sunflower Extract, and Rosemary Leaf Extract, plus Tocopherol (Vitamin E) and Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride for extra conditioning. It’s a considerably longer, more complex ingredient list than the original oil, built for a spray format rather than a poured one.

Texture

True to its “dry oil spray” positioning, this comes out as a genuinely weightless mist rather than droplets. No oily fingertips, no risk of over-applying in one spot. It works on both damp and dry hair, and on dry strands it’s a great quick refresh for second-day hair or for taming flyaways without redoing your whole routine. And I can totally use it just for smelling nice.

My Take

This has become my “I don’t have time to deal with oil today” product – spritz, scrunch through ends, done. It doesn’t quite match the original oil’s intensity of shine (which makes sense, given how much more diluted the formula is), but for a five-second step before you’re out the door, it earns its keep. My only real complaint is the pricing in India. It is a genuinely steep ask.

How I Actually Use All Three

Moisture Repair Shampoo does the actual cleansing, a few times a week. The Treatment Oil goes on towel-dried hair afterward, when I have five extra minutes and want the full salon-finish effect. The Treatment Mist is my in-between-wash rescue tool, a quick spritz on day two or three hair when I need it to look presentable without a full redo. None of them replace each other, which, three products in, is exactly what I was hoping for.

Two Bottles, Two Moods: My Review of Forest Essentials Nargis and Oudh & Green Tea After Bath Oils

I’ve been circling Forest Essentials’ after-bath oils for a while now. That whole aisle at the store has a way of making you feel like you are in heaven. So I finally picked up two of their bestseller body oils: Nargis and Oudh & Green Tea. One smells like a spring morning, the other like something you’d want to be caught wearing at a dinner party. Here’s how they actually held up once the packaging came off.

Description

Both are “after bath oils”. This is Forest Essentials’ term for a water-soluble body oil you smooth on damp skin right after a shower, instead of (or before) a body lotion. They are not exactly massage oils and they are also not perfumes, though they moonlight as both. Nargis is the softer, more wearable everyday option. Oudh & Green Tea is the one you reach for when you want your skin to smell expensive.

Forest Essentials After Bath Oil — Nargis

Price & Quantity

₹1,850 for the 130ml bottle (there’s also a 50ml travel size, if you want to test the waters before committing).

Ingredients

The active blend is built around Apricot Kernel Oil (10%), with Gokharu Seed Extract, Ashwagandha Extract, Cedarwood Extract, and Nargis Flower Oil rounding out the top notes. The base carries Sweet Almond Oil, Avocado Oil, Olive Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, and Vitamin E. It is the classic Forest Essentials formula i.e., Ayurvedic herbs suspended in a cold-pressed oil base, nothing synthetic hiding in the fine print.

Texture

This is where the “water-soluble oil” claim actually earns its keep. It is genuinely light. Nothing like the heavy, sits-on-top-of-your-skin feeling you’d expect from a bottle labelled “oil.” A few drops on damp skin, a quick rub, and it’s gone within seconds, no residue, no slip left behind on your palms and it smells heavenly.

My Take

Nargis is narcissus flower, and the scent lives up to the name. It is powdery, a little green, faintly sweet without tipping into cloying. It’s the kind of fragrance you forget you are wearing until someone leans in for a hug and asks what it is. I’ve been using it after my morning shower on days I want to feel put-together without trying too hard. My only gripe is the scent. It doesn’t have a lot of staying power past the first hour. But it is also not supposed to be a substitute for a perfume. I don’t really apply any moisturiser after this oil. If you are chasing an all-day fragrance, you’ll want to layer it with the matching body mist.

Forest Essentials After Bath Oil — Oudh & Green Tea

Price & Quantity

₹1,850 for the 130ml bottle, same pricing tier as Nargis, also available in a 50ml travel size.

Ingredients

Apricot Kernel Oil takes the lead again at a slightly higher 14%, joined by Bala Root Extract, Gokharu Seed Extract, Ashwagandha Extract, Cedarwood Extract, Oudh Oil, and Green Tea Essential Oil. The base is Sweet Almond Oil, Avocado Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, and Vitamin E. Notably, no olive oil here, and the oudh and green tea essential oils are dosed conservatively (1% and 0.5%), which tells me this is meant to be a scent you discover in layers, not one that hits you the second you open the cap.

Texture

It is identical in feel to Nargis, same fast-absorbing, water-soluble formula, same non-greasy finish. If anything, I found this one absorbed a touch quicker, though that could just be the placebo of a stronger scent making the whole experience feel more “done.”

My Take

This is the one that I personally like more. The oudh is smoky and warm without being heavy-handed, and the green tea keeps it from tipping into “trying too hard” territory. It adds a cool, almost aquatic freshness that cuts through the muskiness. It reads more unisex than Nargis, and honestly, my husband has tried to steal this bottle more than once. It is also noticeably longer-lasting on skin than Nargis, probably because oudh as a note is just built to linger. If you only have room in your routine for one “fragrance-forward” product, this is the stronger pick.

Nargis vs. Oudh & Green Tea: Which One Should You Buy?

NargisOudh & Green Tea
VibeSoft, floral, everydayWarm, smoky, statement-making
LongevityFades within a couple hoursLingers noticeably longer
Best forMornings, office days, understated scent loversEvenings, dates, anyone who likes to be asked “what are you wearing?”
Gender leanFeels distinctly feminineGenuinely unisex

My Take, Overall

Neither of these is a budget buy, and I won’t pretend ₹1,850 for 130ml doesn’t sting a little. But cost-per-use, they’ve earned their place. A few drops go a long way, and the bottles are lasting me months, not weeks. If I had to keep only one, it’d be Oudh & Green Tea for the sheer number of “you smell amazing” moments it bought me. But Nargis is the one I actually reach for more often, precisely because it doesn’t ask for attention. Together, they’ve become a nice little ritual which, if I’m honest, is exactly the kind of small indulgence I need in my 30s.

The Great Glow-Up: La Roche-Posay Mela B3 vs. Caudalie Vinoperfect Serum

We’ve all been there. You do everything right, you wear SPF, you don’t pick at your skin and yet, those pesky little dark spots just refuse to leave the party.

If you are currently on a mission to erase those spots and get that even, “glass skin” tone, you’ve probably got two heavy-hitters on your radar: the La Roche-Posay Mela B3 Dark Spot Corrector and the Caudalie Vinoperfect Concentrated Brightening Serum. I’ve tested both so you don’t have to choose blindly. Let’s break it down!

Price & Quantity:

Let’s get straight to the numbers, because skincare is an investment, and we love a good value.

  • La Roche-Posay Mela B3 Serum: This usually retails for around INR 3300 for 30ml . It is widely available at Nykaa and surprisingly at Apollo Pharmacy.
  • Caudalie Vinoperfect Serum: This one is a splurge. It typically costs INR 6250 for 30ml . You’ll find this at Sephora, Nykaa, Tira, SS beauty.

Winner: La Roche-Posay. Unless you get a great discount, LRP is much kinder to your bank account, especially for a long-term treatment.

Texture & Feel: The Sensory Experience

Here is how they feel on the skin.

  • La Roche-Posay: This has a lightweight, gel texture. It absorbs fast. Really fast. It leaves a velvety, matte finish that sits beautifully under moisturizer and sunscreen. If you have combo or oily skin, you will probably adore how this feels. It’s very no-fuss.
  • Caudalie: This is what I’d call a “soft milky” texture but it is thin, fresh, and hydrating. It feels more like a splash of essence than a heavy serum. It sinks in within seconds and leaves your skin feeling bouncy and quenched. Dry skin types will find this very soothing.

Winner: Tie. It really depends on your mood! LRP for a matte primer-like feel, Caudalie for a refreshing drink of water.

The Main Event: How They Fade Spots

This is what we came for. They use different ingredients to achieve the same goal.

  • La Roche-Posay Mela B3: This serum is a targeted treatment. It uses a high concentration of Melasyl (their proprietary molecule) to target dark spots at the source, combined with Niacinamide (Vitamin B3). It’s designed specifically to tackle stubborn discoloration, whether from the sun or old acne scars. It’s clinical and effective.
  • Caudalie Vinoperfect: This one is a brightening all-rounder. Its key ingredient is Viniferine, which is extracted from grapevine sap. Studies show it’s super effective at evening out skin tone. It’s gentler than the LRP and focuses more on overall radiance and preventing future spots while fading current ones.

My Take: Who is each serum for?

Pick the La Roche-Posay Mela B3 if:

  • You have specific, stubborn dark spots you want to erase (like that one mark that’s been there for months).
  • You have oily or combination skin.
  • You want a budget-friendly option that doesn’t skimp on science.
  • You prefer a “treatment-first” approach.

Pick the Caudalie Vinoperfect if:

  • You want an “all-over glow” and your skin is looking a bit dull or tired.
  • You have dry or sensitive skin (it’s very soothing).
  • You love the luxury experience (the smell is subtle).

Conclusion: The Final Verdict

Here is the honest truth: You really can’t go wrong with either. They are both fantastic products from brands that know their stuff.

However, if I had to pick one to recommend based on performance and value, I’d say:

If your main concern is blasting away dark spots, start with the La Roche-Posay Mela B3. It’s affordable, effective, and plays well with other products. It’s the hardworking employee of the skincare world.

If you have the budget and want a luxurious, glow-boosting experience that also fades spots as a side quest, go for the Caudalie. It makes your skin look like you just went on a vacation.

Hyphen All I Need Lipscreen Review: Sun Protection, But Make It Chic

When it comes to skincare, we obsess over sunscreens for the face and body—but what about our lips? They’re one of the most delicate areas and yet, often the most ignored. For my lip pigmentation issue, I was looking for a sun protection for my lips and I found this brand called Hyphen by actress Kriti Shanon. The Hyphen All I Need Lipscreen SPF 30 is a lip balm-meets-sunscreen that promises to keep your pout hydrated and protected and also helps. I tried it out, and here’s everything you need to know before adding it to your routine.

First Impressions

The packaging is sleek, minimal, and very on-brand for Hyphen—clean white tube with a pop of color that feels modern and unisex. It is apparently very similar to Heily Bieber’s Rhode packaging but I have not used any Rhode product, so, can’t comment. It’s small enough to slip into a pocket or bag without fuss. Honestly, it looks more like a premium lip care product than just another chapstick, which I personally love.

Texture & Application

The balm glides on smoothly without tugging—a big plus, because I don’t like waxy, draggy lip balms. The texture is lightweight and leaves behind a subtle sheen, not an overly glossy finish. For those who hate that sticky-lip feeling, this one sits comfortably. But, I do feel a slight tingling and cooling sensation with a sweet taste. Initially it felt a bit weird but now I have got used to it.

Another win? No weird white cast, even though it has SPF 30. You don’t get that chalky look some SPF lip balms leave behind.

Hydration Factor

Formulated with nourishing ingredients like shea butter, vitamin C, and vitamin E, the Lipscreen doesn’t just protect, it also keeps lips soft and moisturized. My lips stayed hydrated for a good few hours, even in air-conditioned rooms that usually dry them out.

If you have super dry or chapped lips, you may need to reapply more frequently, but as an everyday lip protector, it does a solid job.

Sun Protection

This is the hero feature—SPF 30 with broad-spectrum protection. Most people forget that lips are vulnerable to sunburn and pigmentation too. Having sun protection built right into a balm means you’re more likely to use it daily without thinking twice.

Perfect for city wear, commutes, or even vacation. Just reapply every 2–3 hours if you’re outdoors for long stretches.

Pigmentation

It contains Kojic acid which is known to be a magic ingredient for fighting pigmentation. After using this balm I have noticed my lips have become brighter. Obviously this is going to take significant time to get rid of all the pigmentation but so far I have seen some improvement.

Price Point

The Hyphen All I Need Lipscreen comes in at around ₹399 for 4g, which is higher than your average drugstore lip balm but very reasonable for something that doubles as skincare + SPF. Considering the clean formula and stylish packaging, I’d say it hits the sweet spot of affordable luxury.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Lightweight, non-sticky texture
  • SPF 30 with broad-spectrum protection
  • Contains Kojic acid for fighting pigmentation
  • No white cast
  • Hydrating ingredients like shea butter & vitamin E
  • Travel-friendly packaging

Cons:

  • Hydration might not be enough for severely chapped lips
  • Slightly pricier than regular lip balms (but worth it for the SPF)

Final Verdict

If you’re serious about lip care and sun protection, the Hyphen All I Need Lipscreen is a no-brainer. It’s chic, effective, and comfortable to wear every day. Think of it as the lip balm upgrade you didn’t know you needed.

Rating: 4.7/5

Best For: Daily lip hydration + sun protection
⚠️ Not Ideal For: Severely chapped lips that need a heavier overnight treatment

COSRX The 6 Peptide Skin Booster: Review

Let’s set the scene: It’s 7 AM. You’ve hit snooze three times. Your face looks like it just lost a pillow fight. You need a miracle. Enter: COSRX The 6 Peptide Skin Booster Serum, the skincare equivalent of a triple shot espresso, but with peptides instead of caffeine.

If your skin feels tired, rough, or just… meh, this might be the glass of peptide-powered hydration your routine’s been missing. So let’s dive into this bottle of Korean skincare goodness and see what it’s really all about.

What Is It?

Name: COSRX The 6 Peptide Skin Booster Serum
Price: ₹2,050 INR (depending on platform)
Skin Type: All skin types, especially dull, tired, or aging skin
Texture: Lightweight, watery, essence-like
Key Benefits: Smooths skin, improves elasticity, hydrates, preps for better absorption

This is not your average serum. It’s actually a “booster”, which means it’s designed to be the first layer after cleansing — prepping your skin to absorb the rest of your products more effectively, all while delivering its own skincare punch.

What’s Inside? A Peptide Party

The magic lies in the 6 types of peptides packed into this little bottle. If you’re new to peptides, think of them as tiny protein messengers that tell your skin to get its act together — increase collagen, repair damage and hydrate better.

Here’s the list:

  1. Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (a.k.a. Botox in a bottle) – Smooths fine lines
  2. Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 – Boosts collagen
  3. Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 – Reduces inflammation and dullness
  4. Hexapeptide-9 – Improves texture and firmness
  5. Oligopeptide-29 & Oligopeptide-32 – Overall skin conditioning and rejuvenation

Plus, it contains panthenol, allantoin, and sodium hyaluronate — three skin-soothing heroes that hydrate and calm like a mini facial in 10 seconds.

Texture, Feel & Absorption

If you’re expecting a thick serum, surprise! This one has the consistency of a hydrating essence — think watery, fast-absorbing, no stickiness. It glides on effortlessly, almost vanishes in seconds, and leaves your skin feeling fresh, hydrated, and plump.

It plays well with others, meaning it won’t pill or clash with your moisturizer, retinol, or sunscreen.

Pro tip: If you’re in a rush, you can layer this under just moisturizer and sunscreen and still feel like you did something good for your skin.

The Results: Does It Actually Do Anything?

After 2–3 weeks of using it morning and night, here’s what I (and many others) noticed:

Softer, smoother skin — that “baby cheek” feel
Visible plumpness — your skin looks less tired
Fine lines slightly blurred — especially on the forehead
Better absorption of serums/moisturizer — skin just drinks them up
No breakouts or irritation — it’s incredibly gentle

The effect isn’t dramatic like a retinol, but it’s the kind of change that sneaks up on you. One day you just realize your skin looks… healthier.

Who Should Use It?

This serum is for:

  • Skincare newbies who want anti-aging without harsh actives
  • Barrier-repair lovers who use too many exfoliants
  • Peptide enthusiasts
  • Anyone with dehydrated, dull, or stressed skin

Not ideal if:

  • You want immediate, drastic transformation
  • You prefer rich, creamy textures
  • You’re a skincare minimalist who sticks to 2 products max

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Lightweight, fast-absorbing formula
  • Contains 6 powerful peptides
  • Plays well with any routine
  • Fragrance-free, cruelty-free, and gentle
  • Good price for the ingredients

Cons:

  • Might be too light for very dry skin (layer with thicker cream)
  • Results are subtle and build over time
  • Not a replacement for retinol or stronger actives

How to Use

AM & PM Routine (after cleansing):

  1. Dispense 2–3 drops into your palm
  2. Gently pat it onto your face
  3. Follow with serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen (AM) or night cream (PM)

Bonus: Try layering it twice if your skin feels extra thirsty.

Is It Clean Beauty?

Yes! COSRX prides itself on being cruelty-free, with minimalist formulas that skip fragrance, essential oils, and known irritants. It’s also hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested — ideal for sensitive skin types.

Final Verdict: 9/10

COSRX 6 Peptide Skin Booster Serum isn’t flashy, but it’s quietly effective. It’s the introvert of skincare: low drama, high impact.

If you’re looking to introduce peptides into your routine in a non-intimidating, hydrating, and budget-friendly way, this is your go-to.

Would I repurchase? Absolutely.
Would I use it on days when my skin is screaming for a break? Definitely.
Would I gift it to my friend ? 100%.

Versed Doctor’s Visit Instant Resurfacing Mask Review

Let’s face it: some of us want spa-level skin results without the spa-level effort (or cost). Let me introduce you to a little yellow miracle in a jar—the Versed Instant Resurfacing Mask for a quick effortless spa-level glow-up.

This popular pick from the minimalist-meets-effective skincare brand Versed has been buzzing around the beauty world, and I finally decided to give it a whirl (and a sniff).

Let’s break it down.

What Is It?

Name: Versed The Shortcut Instant Resurfacing Mask
Price: Approx. ₹1750 INR / $17 USD
Star Ingredients: Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Pineapple + Papaya Enzymes, Vitamin E
Skin Type: All, but especially dull, rough, or uneven skin
Use Frequency: 1–3 times per week (2 minutes is enough!)

This is a chemical exfoliation mask designed to deliver baby-smooth, glassy skin without stripping or irritating. And if your skin gets fussy (hi, sensitive skin gang), you’ll be happy to know it’s fragrance-free, vegan, and cruelty-free.

What’s Inside the Jar?

The ingredient list reads like the skincare version of a green smoothie:

  • Lactic Acid & Glycolic Acid (AHAs) – gently melt away dead skin cells
  • Pineapple & Papaya Enzymes – natural fruit enzymes that brighten and exfoliate
  • Vitamin E – nourishes and soothes
  • Aloe Vera – calms redness and irritation

It’s basically a chemical peel-lite for people who want results but don’t want to go through all the pain and also the pocket pinch.

Texture & Application

It has a smooth, creamy, jelly-like consistency—kind of like lemon curd but for your face (do not eat, please). It’s lightweight, spreads evenly, and doesn’t drip or dry tight.

Apply it to clean, dry skin and let it sit for just 2 minutes. Yes, TWO MINUTES—just enough time to check your emails or rehearse your “I’m totally awake” face before your 9 AM call.

A slight tingle is normal (and expected), but if it starts to feel like fire ants are salsa dancing on your face wash it off. I recommend a patch test.

The Aftermath: How Does Skin Feel?

Here’s the real deal: after just one use, my skin felt smoother, looked brighter, and had that facial vibe. Makeup glided on like a dream the next day.

But the real magic happens after using it regularly for a few weeks:

  • Pores looked smaller (still there, but smaller!)
  • My skin tone evened out
  • Texture? What texture?

It genuinely made my skin feel like it had gone through a mini-renovation. Not bad for a 2-minute mask you can use while your coffee brews.

Who Should Use This?

If any of the below sound like you, add it to cart:

  • You have dull, rough, or uneven skin
  • You want quick exfoliation but hate scrubs
  • You’re a skincare minimalist who loves effective multitaskers
  • You’ve been too scared to try “chemical exfoliation” but want to start gentle

However, if you have very sensitive skin or active acne, patch test first! It’s a potent mix of AHAs and enzymes, so don’t go slathering it on like a moisturizer.

Tips for First-Time Users:

  1. Patch test behind your ear or jawline before first use
  2. Use at night and always follow with SPF the next day (your fresh skin is vulnerable!)
  3. Avoid other exfoliants (scrubs, retinol, etc.) the same day
  4. Don’t overdo it—1–2 times a week is more than enough
  5. Moisturize well afterward—your skin just did a workout

Pros & Cons

✅ Pros:

  • Super fast (2 minutes and done)
  • Immediate glow and long-term skin texture improvement
  • Non-irritating for most skin types
  • Affordable and clean formula
  • Great for travel or lazy girl skincare days

⚠️ Cons:

  • Can be too strong for ultra-sensitive skin
  • Might not show dramatic results after just one use (be patient!)
  • Slight tingling can be uncomfortable for first-timers

Science-Backed? Yep!

This isn’t just influencer hype. The blend of AHAs and enzymes is backed by dermatological science. Chemical exfoliants like lactic and glycolic acids break down the “glue” holding dead skin cells together, promoting turnover and giving you that glass skin look.

And because it’s rinse-off, there’s less chance of irritation compared to leave-on peels.

Is It Clean Beauty Approved?

Absolutely. Versed is part of the clean, vegan, cruelty-free beauty movement. No parabens, no silicones, no added fragrance. Just effective ingredients in simple packaging.

Also, brownie points for being available at drugstore prices but delivering department store results.

Final Verdict: 9.5/10

This little jar packs a punch. For the price, ingredients, and speed of results, it’s one of the best exfoliating masks in its category. While it’s not a miracle in a bottle (is anything?), it’s pretty dang close for those of us battling dullness, texture, or uneven skin tone.

Would I repurchase? Already have. Would I gift it? I have. Would I wear it to my wedding day? Probably not, but I would use it the night before.

The Face Shop Pomegranate & Collagen Cream Review

Let’s talk about something juicy — and no, not office gossip (though I’m here for that too). I’m talking about The Face Shop Pomegranate & Collagen Volume Lifting Cream, the K-beauty superstar that promises to moisturize, lift, firm, and maybe even turn back time — all while smelling like a spa in Seoul.

I’ve been using this little pink jar of hope for a few weeks now, and honestly? I like it a lot.

A close-up of The Face Shop Pomegranate & Collagen Volume Lifting Cream jar held in a hand, showcasing the label that highlights its key benefits.

First Impressions:

The cream comes in a pearly pink jar that looks like it belongs on a K-drama vanity table. You will feel extra just unscrewing the lid. It has a light, pleasant fragrance — think fruity floral but not like a teenager’s lip gloss exploded.

The texture? Silky but not greasy. Rich but not suffocating. Basically, the cream version of that friend who’s always overdressed but never overdressed.

Price:

On Nykaa, it retails for Rs 2350 for the 100 ml tub but there is always 10-20% discount.

Key Ingredients: Pomegranate + Collagen = Anti-Aging Avengers

This cream stars two heroes:

  • Pomegranate extract — rich in antioxidants, helps fight free radicals, and gives your skin that I drink 2L of water and sleep 8 hours glow (even when you… don’t).
  • Marine Collagen — supports skin elasticity and firmness, because gravity is rude and persistent.

Together, they aim to plump up fine lines, hydrate your skin, and make you look like you haven’t cried into your pillow last night over a Netflix show.

Day Cream? Night Cream? Why Not Both?

The Face Shop says this cream is suitable for both day and night use. And yes — it plays well under sunscreen and makeup during the day, and feels like a cozy comfort blanket at night. I mean, if you’re going to binge-watch dramas till 2am, at least your skin should be nourished.

I have slightly oily skin, and it didn’t make me super oily or break me out. Disclaimer, I use it only at night when the AC is on. It nullifies the super drying impact of the air conditioner. While I am going out during the day I prefer not to use it. If you’re super oily, maybe don’t use during the day. If you’re dry, you’ll love the plumping effect.

A hand holding a jar of The Face Shop Pomegranate & Collagen Volume Lifting Cream, showing the pink jar with cream inside against a plain background.

Results After 3 Weeks: Glazed and Not Confused

Here’s what I noticed:

  • My skin looks smoother — like someone gently airbrushed it.
  • My smile lines? Slightly less.
  • My cheeks have that healthy, post-facial bounce.
  • No breakouts, no irritation, and no “I just slathered Vaseline on my face” feeling.

Basically, if my face were a dessert, it’s now a dewy glazed donut.

A dollop of The Face Shop Pomegranate & Collagen Volume Lifting Cream on a hand, showcasing its creamy texture against a neutral background.

Final Verdict: Worth the Hype?

Absolutely. For the price and the results, The Face Shop Pomegranate & Collagen Cream is a lovely addition to your routine if you’re looking for hydration + firming + glow, without needing a celebrity-sized skincare budget.

Will it erase every wrinkle? No. Will it make your skin look like you drink kale smoothies and meditate daily? Yes, ma’am.

Would I repurchase? Already halfway through the jar, bestie.

Have you tried this K-beauty gem? Do you believe in collagen creams or do you think they’re just fancy whipped dreams? Drop your thoughts in the comments!

An Honest Review of Anua Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Serum: Glow Goals or Nah?

Let’s talk about something we’ve all been chasing since our teen years—clear, even-toned, glassy skin. If you’ve ever stared at your reflection and muttered “Why is my face a patchwork quilt?”, this one’s for you.

Enter: the Anua Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Serum. Yep, that’s a mouthful. But is it worth a spot in your skincare lineup? I tried it for two weeks straight, and here’s the good, the glowy review.

A hand holding a box of Anua Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Serum, showcasing its sleek packaging design with the product name and size prominently displayed.

The Price Tag

Depending on where you buy it, it usually retails around ₹1800–₹2000 (~$20–25 USD) for 30ml. Not drugstore-cheap, but definitely not wallet-shattering either. And considering the ingredients? It’s pretty darn reasonable. In India, it is available on Nykaa.

Ingredients Breakdown:

  • Niacinamide 10% – A skincare classic. Known for minimizing pores, evening skin tone, strengthening the skin barrier, and basically making you glow like you slept 8 hours (even if you didn’t).
  • TXA (Tranexamic Acid) 4% – A powerful brightening agent. This acid is your hyperpigmentation’s worst nightmare. Great for fading dark spots, acne scars, and melasma.

Together, these two form a brightening dream team. Think of Niacinamide as the chill, hardworking employee and TXA as the overachiever who quietly handles all the tough stuff.

First Impressions

Let’s start with the packaging: sleek, minimal, and no-frills—basically the skincare equivalent of a white T-shirt. It’s giving “I’m not like other serums. I’m focused.”

The texture? Lightweight and watery-serum-ish. Not sticky, not oily. It sinks in faster. One pump covers your whole face, and it layers beautifully under moisturizer and sunscreen.

Smell? None. Which is chef’s kiss because nobody asked for perfume in a brightening serum.

The Experience: Week by Week

Week 1: The Calm Before the Glow

My skin felt a bit irritated on the first two days. There was slight redness. I got a bit scared and waited for two more days before applying again. Since the third day the redness disappeared. Skin felt slightly smoother and a bit more even in tone. No irritation. No drama. Just polite skincare behavior.

Week 2: Pore-less Possibilities

That subtle inner glow started peeking through. A few acne scars on my cheek started lightening (not gone yet, but noticeably faded). Also, my skin looked less “meh” in the morning.

What’s the Catch?

Okay, it’s not perfect.

  • Not hydrating enough on its own. You’ll need to pair it with a good moisturizer, especially if you’re dry or combo.
  • If your skin is very sensitive, patch test first—10% niacinamide can be a bit intense for some.
  • It’s more of a slow burn than a “wake up and see magic” type of serum.

Who Should Use It?

This serum is a recommended option for:

  • People struggling with hyperpigmentation, PIH, or melasma
  • Oily-to-combination skin types
  • Beginners in actives who want a powerful yet gentle brightening boost

Maybe not ideal for:

  • Super dry skin (unless paired with a hydrating routine)
  • Ultra-sensitive skin types who react to niacinamide

Final Verdict: Add to Cart?

Yes, if you want a glow-up that’s subtle, steady, and sustainable.
No, if you want instant results or if your skin gets cranky with active ingredients.

Rating: 4.5/5 — deducted half a point for the slow pace, but this is one of those serums that wins the long game.

If you are someone who has got dry under-eye skin, then this review is for you. I have been noticing that my under-eye area became quite dry due to longer hours in front of screens. Eye creams helped definitely but I also tried the Petitfee Gold Hydrogel eye patch and I quite liked it

  • Take off the patch after taking a light rest with a cool feeling for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Gently massage the area after use.
  • Wrap up with a moisturizer if necessary.

Note: This product is a hydrogel type. Be cautious as it may tear off if handled roughly when applied. You can keep it in the refrigerator for an enhanced cooling effect.

My Take on the Petitfee Gold Hydrogel Eye Patch:

Packaging: They come in a plastic golden tub with a small spatula to take out the product. I store it in my refrigerator for that extra cooling effect. It contains 60 very thin films of eye patch. It may get teared apart while taking out. So, be careful. The patches are super slimy and has a gold shimmery effect.

Ingredients: They contain fragrance. I don’t understand the need of it. I couldn’t smell much of it though. I am not sure of the 24k gold part but overall they contain a lot of hydrating ingredients.

Texture: The eye patches are soaked in a slimy hydrating liquid. I put on the masks and also slowly without any pressure blend the liquid around my eyes. I keep it on for maximum 20 minutes and it leaves a visibly hydrated and bright under-eye area.

Am I going to repurchase this? This is more like a good to have product for self-care. I will probably try out some other eye patches in future but these are also not bad.

Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream – Review

Hello! Here I am with another review of one of the very popular Korean skincare product. I have heard a lot of good reviews about the beauty of Joseon products. A little history here. Beauty of Joseon is a brand that has reinterpreted the unchanging beauty and the traditional methods from nature in a modern way according to the wisdom of Joseon women. Based on the ‘Gyuhap Chongseo’, 100-year-old book which is referred to as the encyclopedia of the Joseon Dynasty, they have included the beauty methods of women from, the uppermost classes of the Joseon Dynasty.People of the Joseon Dynasty regarded flashy adornment to be obscene and low class. As a result, women from, noble families put on makeup with minimal colors and focused more on creating clean and clear skin rather than on applying makeup and adorning themselves. Well, even now Korean products are more focused on creating clean and clear skin. This is what I love about them.

Anyway I have tried the famous ‘Dynasty’ cream from Beauty of Joseon and I am wondering why I didn’t purchase this earlier! Okay, so let me tell you all about it.

Price and Quantity:

The dynasty cream is widely available on Tira, Amazon and on Nykaa. The printed MRP is around Rs 2050 for a 50ml tub but I found it at 10% discount on Tira beauty.

Product Description:

From the brand page, “This all-in-one cream is filled with good-for-skin ingredients like rice bran water, ginseng water, squalane, and niacinamide. These ingredients help to keep your skin healthy, hydrated, and balanced. Its firm texture sinks into your skin, providing moisture and nourishment from deep within.

Long-lasting moisture
Enriched with 2% niacinamide and 2% squalane, it balances oil and moisture and protects skin from external stimuli.

Subtle glow finish
This cream provides a gentle, glowy finish.
It creates a natural and healthy glow when used with foundation.

Key ingredients

Rice bran water 29%
Rice bran is the finest inner bran of milled rice. In the Joseon Dynasty, rice bran water was used like the toner of today. It was called ‘Beauty Water’, used for beautiful skin. Rice bran, rich in amino acids, minerals, and vitamin E, helps to keep the skin moist and healthy.

Ginseng root water 5%
Ginseng is the most important herbal ingredient in Korean history. In the Joseon Dynasty, it was called ‘Shincho’, meaning herb from the gods. The rich saponin contained in ginseng helps to make the skin healthier and more energized.

Squalane 2%
Squalane, which has properties similar to sebum, helps to balance oil and moisture and acts as a moisture barrier to protect the skin from external stimuli.

Niacinamide 2%
Niacinamide is a water-soluble B vitamin.
It helps to prevent excessively dry or oily skin by regulating sebum secretion.”

Ingredients:

Water, Oryza Sativa (rice) Bran Water, Glycerin, Panax Ginseng Root Water, Hydrogenated polydecene, 1,2-Hexanediol, Niacinamide, Squalane, Butylene glycol, Propanediol, Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Xanthan Gum, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Tromethamine, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Coconut Oil, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Adenosine, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Disodium EDTA, Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Honey Extract, Ceramide NP, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Coptis Japonica Root Extract, Raphanus Sativus (Radish) Seed Extract, Lycium Chinense Fruit Extract, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Extract, Phellinus Linteus Extract, Dextrin, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract

My Take on the Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream:

Packaging: Completely fuss free simple packaging. It comes in a white transparent glass tub with a white lid. There is a small spatula to help you take out the product.

Ingredients: The first 4 primary ingredients are water, rice bran water, glycerin and ginseng root water. Just looking at this ingredient list I can say that the focus is on hydration and locking moisture in the skin. It also contains 2% niacinamide and 2% squalene which are again quite nice on the ingredient list. It is a fragrance free product too.

Texture: It has a velvety, creamy texture which feels really luxurious on the skin. It gets absorbed easily without making my skin oily. It blends very easily and can be used as a moisturizing primer. It instantly gives a glow after application! My skin looks nourished and hydrated. I have applied it as a night cream and every morning when I wake up my skin feels amazingly smooth and soft after using this.

Am I going to repurchase this? Absolutely yes! For oily skin beauties finding a good balanced moisturizer is really hard! This one will work for dry, combination and oily skin people across the year. Maybe if you have super dry skin, I will not recommend it for winter but it can be a good product for summer.
