Caudalie Vinoperfect Night Cream Review

I’ve just started using the Caudalie Vinoperfect Glycolic Night Cream, and I’m honestly impressed with how radiant and smooth my skin looks each morning. After just a few nights, the gentle exfoliation has visibly brightened my complexion without any irritation. It’s the overnight glow-up my skincare routine was missing. Here’s my full review of this popular brightening cream.

Overview

The Caudalie Vinoperfect Dark Spot Correcting Glycolic Night Cream is an overnight treatment designed to address dullness, uneven texture, and hyperpigmentation. It acts as a gentle overnight peel, working while you sleep to renew the skin and reveal a fresh, glowing complexion by morning. Formulated with Caudalie’s signature brightening complex, it targets dark spots, sun spots, melasma, and acne scars without the harshness often associated with similar treatments. It’s an excellent option for those looking to incorporate glycolic acid into their routine without worrying about irritation or excessive dryness.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Glycolic Night Cream

Price and Quantity in India

This night cream comes in a 50ml (1.6 fl. oz.) size, and it’s priced at a premium. On Nykaa, the MRP is ₹4,525, inclusive of all taxes.

Tip: Caudalie products often go on sale during festive seasons or beauty events (like the Nykaa Hot Pink Sales). It’s worth keeping an eye out for a deal if you want to try it at a lower price point.

Texture and Scent

The texture of this night cream is one of its best features. It has a rich, creamy consistency that feels deeply nourishing, yet it is surprisingly lightweight. It melts instantly into the skin without leaving any greasy or heavy residue, making it ideal for all skin types, including oily and combination skin. The formula is also oil-free and non-comedogenic, so you don’t have to worry about clogged pores or breakouts.

The scent is a fresh, subtle phyto-aromatic blend with green notes of bergamot, sweet orange, mandarin, and lemon wood. It smells natural and clean, almost botanical, without being overpowering or heavily perfumed. If you are sensitive to fragrances, you’ll appreciate how gentle and subtle this one is.

Key Ingredients and Their Benefits

Here’s a closer look at what makes this formula so effective:

Viniferine (Patented Brightening Agent)

This natural extract derived from vine sap is a Caudalie signature. It provides an exceptional dark-spot-correcting action and is proven to be 62 times more effective than vitamin C at brightening and reducing pigmentation. It targets melanin production to visibly reduce dark spots, sun spots, melasma, and acne scars without the irritation often associated with other brightening agents.

Glycolic Acid

As an AHA (alpha hydroxy acid), glycolic acid eliminates dead skin cells to gently exfoliate the skin’s surface, refining texture and promoting cell renewal. Unlike strong chemical peels, the concentration here is balanced for nightly use, offering effective resurfacing without excessive irritation.

Papaya Enzyme

Rich in papain, this enzyme provides a gentle exfoliating effect that helps target dullness and visible pores, leaving the skin more refined and even-toned. It’s a natural alternative to harsh physical scrubs, making the cream suitable even for sensitive skin types.

Shea Butter & Grapeseed Oil

These nourishing ingredients provide antioxidant protection and intense hydration without clogging pores. They leave the skin feeling soft, plump, and comfortable after each use.

Squalane & Hyaluronic Acid

Both are powerful humectants that attract and retain moisture, ensuring the skin stays hydrated and smooth throughout the night without any heavy residue.

The formula is 95% natural origin ingredients, dermatologically tested, non-comedogenic, oil-free, and vegan. Plus, it’s free from parabens, phthalates, mineral oils, and other potentially irritating ingredients.

Effectiveness

After consistent use, I’ve noticed the following results:

  • Overnight Brightening: You’ll see a visible glow by morning. The skin looks less dull, more luminous, and well-rested.
  • Reduction in Dark Spots: Over several weeks, dark spots, sun spots, and post-acne marks fade noticeably, leaving a more even-toned complexion.
  • Refined Skin Texture: Fine lines look softer, and the overall texture becomes smoother and more refined with regular use.
  • Hydration: It provides deep, lasting hydration without feeling heavy or greasy. Your skin feels plump, soft, and nourished by morning.

Clinical studies show that 90% of women felt their dark spots were corrected after 56 days of use, and 93% saw brighter-looking skin.

My Take

This night cream is a standout because it delivers effective results without irritation. Many glycolic acid treatments can be harsh, especially on sensitive or dry skin, but this one strikes the perfect balance. The texture is luxurious yet lightweight, and the subtle scent makes the application feel like a spa ritual. It’s also incredibly versatile. It works for all skin types, including sensitive and acne-prone skin.

Who Should Use It: Anyone dealing with dullness, uneven texture, dark spots, or post-acne marks. It’s also great for those new to chemical exfoliants who want a gentle, user-friendly entry point.

A Note on Results: While you will notice an immediate glow after the first use, significant improvements in dark spots and pigmentation require consistent use over several weeks. Patience is key.

Considerations: The price point is on the higher side, but a little goes a long way, and the 50ml jar lasts several months with nightly use. If you’re on a budget, consider waiting for a sale or opting for the travel size first. Also, because it contains AHAs, it’s essential to wear sunscreen daily; glycolic acid increases sun sensitivity.

Final Verdict

The Caudalie Vinoperfect Glycolic Night Cream is a highly effective, gentle, and luxurious overnight treatment that delivers on its promises. It brightens, smooths, and hydrates the skin without irritation, making it suitable for almost everyone. If you’re looking to tackle dullness, uneven texture, or dark spots without the harsh side effects of stronger chemical peels, this is an excellent investment.

Rating: (4.5/5)
Highly recommended for anyone seeking a reliable, gentle, and effective brightening night cream.

The Zesty Classic: Review of Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin Cologne

Some fragrances try too hard. This one doesn’t. Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin is bright, clean, and surprisingly easy to wear. It’s been a favourite for years, but it still feels modern. Let’s talk about why it works so well.

First Impressions: The “Punch in the Face” (In a Good Way)

The first spritz of this cologne is honestly an experience. It opens with a burst of zesty lime that is so realistic, it’s like you just sliced the fruit open yourself. It’s not a sweet, candy-like lime; it’s tart, fresh, and incredibly invigorating.

But just as your brain registers “Hey, this is a nice citrus scent,” the heart notes kick in. That’s where the basil comes into play.

The basil adds an herbaceous, almost peppery twist that stops the fragrance from being a one-note wonder. It adds a “green” quality that feels like walking through an herb garden after a rainstorm. It’s unexpected, but it’s what makes this scent so unique.

Jo Malone Lime Basil and Mandarin

The Scent Profile: A Fragrance Pyramid

To break it down a little further, here is how the magic happens:

  • Top Notes (The Opening): Lime, Mandarin Orange, and Bergamot. It’s a bright, sunny start.
  • Heart Notes (The Middle): Basil, Neroli, and Petitgrain. This is the “green” heart that gives the scent its character.
  • Base Notes (The Dry Down): Vetiver and Cedarwood. As the citrus fades, a warm, woody anchor emerges. This prevents the scent from disappearing immediately and gives it a sophisticated finish.

The Wearability: Who Is This For?

This is what I love most about it: it’s incredibly unisex. It is the definition of a mood booster. On a humid summer day, it cuts through the heat perfectly. In the spring, it pairs beautifully with the blooming flowers. While it’s marketed as a cologne, it leans slightly more towards a daytime, casual, or even office-friendly scent. It doesn’t scream for attention, but it creates a lovely aura around you.

Jo Malone Lime Basil and Mandarin

The “Jo Malone” Factor: Longevity and Sillage

Okay, let’s address the elephant in the room. Jo Malone fragrances are famously marketed as “Colognes” and are designed to be layered. This means they aren’t going to have the beast-mode projection of a heavy designer perfume.

  • Longevity: On my skin, I get about 2 to 3 hours before it becomes a very intimate skin scent. If you want it to last all day, you’ll need to spray on clothes or reapply.
  • Sillage (Projection): It sits close to the skin. People will smell you when they hug you, but you won’t walk into a room and announce your presence five minutes before you enter.

Tip: If you buy this, look into the “layering” concept. Lime Basil & Mandarin pairs beautifully with Jo Malone’s Wood Sage & Sea Salt (for a herby marine vibe) or with their English Pear & Freesia. I have reviewed these two colognes in the past. Do, check them out!

The Packaging

It comes in the classic Jo Malone box, cream and sleek with a simple black ribbon. The bottle is heavy, minimalist, and looks stunning on a vanity. It feels like a luxury item before you even spray it.

The Final Verdict: Should You Buy It?

Rating: 4.5/5 Stars

Buy this if:

  • You love fresh, citrusy, and herbal scents.
  • You want a signature daytime scent that is uplifting.
  • You appreciate unisex fragrances.
  • You enjoy the idea of layering scents to create something custom.

Skip this if:

  • You need a fragrance that lasts 8+ hours without reapplying.
  • You prefer sweet, gourmand (vanilla/caramel) scents.
  • You like heavy, dark, or winter-specific perfumes.

In Conclusion

Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin has earned its “cult classic” status for a reason. It’s a happy scent. It’s clean without smelling like soap, and it’s green without smelling like grass.

It’s the fragrance equivalent of putting on a crisp white shirt and jeans, simple, classic, and always appropriate.

NARS Light Reflecting Foundation: A Worthy Investment?

Finding the perfect foundation shade is like finding a needle in a haystack. If you have a medium to fair skin tone with warm undertones, you know the struggle. Too orange, too pink, too ashy and the list goes on. So when I finally got my hands on the NARS Light Reflecting Foundation in the shade Punjab, I had high hopes. Spoiler alert: it delivered.

First Things First: Price and Quantity

Let’s talk numbers because let’s be honest, this is a splurge. The NARS Light Reflecting Foundation comes in a 30ml bottle and retails for ₹4,500 in Nykaa and honestly it is hard to get a discount on this.

Yes, it’s an investment. But considering you get a high-performance, skincare-infused foundation that doubles as both makeup and skincare, it starts to make sense. The bottle is made of recyclable glass, which adds to the premium feel . Plus, a little goes a long way, more on that later.

NARS Light reflecting Moisturizer: shade Punjab

The Texture: Light as Air

One pump of this foundation and you’ll immediately notice how thin and fluid the consistency is. It’s not thick or gloopy like some full-coverage foundations can be. The texture is almost serum-like, which makes sense given that the formula is packed with skincare ingredients.

When I first dispensed it, I was a bit skeptical. Can something this light really provide decent coverage? The answer is yes, and it does so beautifully. It blends effortlessly, whether you use your fingers, a brush, or a damp beauty sponge. I personally found that warming it up with my fingertips and then pressing it into the skin gives the most natural finish .

The formula contains 70% skincare ingredients, including biomimetic oat to soothe and calm the skin, Japanese lilyturf to strengthen the skin barrier, and cacao peptides with milk thistle to protect against environmental aggressors and blue light . It’s also vegan, non-comedogenic (so it won’t clog pores), and free from mineral oil, silicone, talc, fragrance, and alcohol .

The Shade: Punjab (My Perfect Match)

Now, let’s talk about the star of this review: the shade Punjab. If you’re unfamiliar with NARS’ shade system, they’ve been industry leaders in inclusive shade ranges long before it became trendy . Punjab falls in the medium to fair skin tone category with warm, golden undertones, which are very suitable for Indian skin tone.

For reference, if you’ve ever used MAC NC30 or Studio Fix in NC35 and found it to be a decent match, Punjab will likely work beautifully for you. It’s that perfect balance, not too yellow, not too peach, just a warm, natural glow that looks like skin.

The brand recommends allowing the foundation to dry down on your skin to confirm the match, as the shade can settle slightly . I found this to be true. It blends into the skin beautifully after a minute or two.

After blending NARS light reflecting moisturizer

Versatility: One Foundation, Many Looks

What I appreciate most about this foundation is how versatile it is. You can wear it sheer for a no-makeup makeup day, or build it up to a solid medium coverage for events or evenings out .

  • For a natural daytime look: One thin layer applied with fingers gives a “my skin but better” finish. It evens out redness and blurs imperfections without looking like you have foundation on.
  • For full glam: Two to three pumps, applied with a brush and then pressed in with a sponge, give a beautiful, buildable almost full coverage that photographs beautifully. The photochromic technology in the formula adjusts to different lighting conditions, so you never look washed out in photos or flashback .

It also plays well with other products. I’ve worn it over silicone-based primers, water-based primers, and even just on top of moisturizer or sunscreen, and it performed consistently each time. Setting it with powder helps extend the wear, though I found it held up well on its own for about 8-9 hours easily.

My Take: The Good and The Not-So-Good

The Good:

  • Skin-like finish: This foundation truly lives up to its “light reflecting” name. It gives a natural, radiant finish that doesn’t look greasy or overly dewy. It strikes that perfect balance between matte and glow .
  • Comfortable wear: It feels weightless on the skin. I often forget I’m wearing foundation when I have this on.
  • Skincare benefits: After using it consistently for a few weeks, I genuinely noticed my skin looked clearer and more even, even on days I wasn’t wearing makeup. The brand’s clinical studies back this up, showing improved skin clarity after six weeks of use .
  • Shade match: If you’re in the medium to fair with warm undertone category, Punjab is a godsend. It doesn’t oxidize or turn orange throughout the day.

The Not-So-Good:

  • Price point: There’s no getting around it, ₹4,500 is steep for a foundation. But if you’re someone who values skincare benefits and a natural finish for a full day wear, the cost per wear might justify the investment.
  • Coverage limitations: If you’re looking for full coverage to conceal intense hyperpigmentation or active acne, you’ll still need a concealer. This is a medium-coverage foundation, and while it builds, it doesn’t reach full coverage territory .
  • Not for super dry skin? Some reviewers with very dry skin found it wasn’t hydrating enough on its own. If your skin leans dry, layering a hydrating serum or moisturizer underneath is a must .

A Little Bit About The Brand

NARS was founded in 1994 by French makeup artist and photographer François Nars. It all started with just 12 lipsticks sold at Barneys New York, but the brand quickly exploded into the beauty powerhouse it is today .

What sets NARS apart is its no-rules approach to beauty. François Nars famously said, “Don’t hold back. Be bold. It encourages others to do the same”. That philosophy is reflected in everything from the bold shade names to the brand’s commitment to inclusive shade ranges long before it was the industry norm .

In 2000, NARS became part of the Shiseido Group, which brought even more skincare expertise to the brand’s complexion products . The Light Reflecting Foundation, launched in 2022, is the culmination of that expertise, a true makeup-skincare hybrid that prioritizes skin health alongside cosmetic performance .

Final Verdict

Would I recommend the NARS Light Reflecting Foundation? Absolutely yes.

If you’re looking for a foundation that gives a natural, radiant finish for office or party wear while actually improving your skin over time, this is worth every rupee. It’s versatile enough for everyday wear and special occasions, feels comfortable on the skin, and photographs beautifully.

However, if you prefer full coverage or have extremely dry skin that requires intense hydration, you might want to test it out first or be prepared to layer with a good moisturizer.

For me, this has earned a permanent spot in my makeup rotation. It’s one of those rare foundations that makes me feel like I’m enhancing my skin, not covering it up. And at the end of the day, isn’t that what we all want?

Have you tried the NARS Light Reflecting Foundation? What’s your go-to shade? Drop a comment below. I’d love to hear your thoughts!

My Favourite Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipsticks for the Office

Finding the perfect office lipstick is a bit like dating. You need something that looks good, is reliable, doesn’t demand too much attention, and will last through a long day of meetings, coffee runs, and the lunch.

For me, the search ended when I discovered the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipsticks. They strike that elusive balance between high-impact colour and comfortable wear. Today, I want to give the spotlight on two hero shades that I use almost everyday at office: the iconic Walk of No Shame and the newer love, First Dance.

Price and Quantity

These lipsticks are definitely pricey an investment in your daily glamour, retailing at Rs 3950 (first dance) and Rs 3650(walk of no shame). I don’t know why there is a price difference even though both of them belong to the same line. Nykaa gives good discounts during the sales.

Are they cheap? No. But when you consider the quality of the ingredients, the pigmentation (a little goes a long way), and the fact that the formula doesn’t dry out your lips, it feels like a justified luxury.

Texture

The name “Matte Revolution” is incredibly accurate. This isn’t flat, chalky, drying matte. Charlotte Tilbury famously infused these lipsticks with an orchid extract, which gives them a truly revolutionary texture.

When you glide it on, it feels almost balmy, smooth, creamy, and comfortable. It sets down to a matte finish, but it’s a “matte” that still has life and a velvety softness to it. It doesn’t settle into lip lines or emphasise dry patches, which is a godsend when you’ve been sitting in air conditioning all day. Both shades have this identical, dreamy texture and are perfect for office-wear.

Longevity

For an office environment, you don’t need something that requires industrial-strength remover at the end of the day, but you also don’t want to reapply after every sip of tea.

The Matte Revolution formula wears off gracefully. You’ll get a good 4 to 6 hours of solid, vibrant colour before it begins to fade. It will survive a coffee and a light lunch, though a greasy meal will require a touch-up. Because of the balmy texture, when it does fade, it fades evenly and leaves a lovely stain behind, rather than crumbling or disappearing in an unflattering ring around the inner lip. It’s the epitome of a low-maintenance, high-performance lipstick.

My Take

Now, for the main event. Here is how these two shades specifically work their magic in an office setting.

Left : walk of no shame; Right : First Dance

Walk of No Shame

This shade is a legend for a reason. It’s a unique, impossible-to-pin-down blend of brick red, berry, and rose. In the office, this is my “Power Player” shade.

Walk of no Shame

Why it works: It commands just the right amount of attention. It’s a statement colour that says you are confident and mean business, but because it has those rusty brick undertones, it’s softer and more sophisticated than a primary, in-your-face red. It pairs beautifully with a crisp white shirt or a navy blazer. If I have a big presentation or a day full of important meetings, Walk of No Shame is the shade that will make me feel like I’m in the boardroom, ready to conquer the world. I have almost emptied my first bullet. That’s something!

First Dance

If Walk of No Shame is the CEO, First Dance is the effortlessly charming Head of HR. It’s a stunning, muted rose with the slightest hint of a pinky-peach warmth. It’s basically the “my lips but better” shade.

Why it works: It brightens up the face instantly, giving you a healthy, awake glow, essential for those early Monday mornings. It complements every single eye look, from a bold smoky eye to a simple wash of colour, and it goes with every outfit in my work wardrobe. First Dance is my reliable, friendly, and universally flattering go-to.

Conclusion

So, which one deserves a spot in your handbag? Honestly, it depends on your office personality.

If you love to make a subtle but powerful statement and want a lipstick that acts as armour, go for the iconic Walk of No Shame. It’s a classic for a reason.

If you prefer a softer, romantic approach to office glam and want a shade that simply enhances your natural beauty, then First Dance is your perfect match. It’s the shade that will get you the most compliments of “you look so well!”

Whichever you choose (and let’s be honest, having both for different moods is a very valid option), the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution formula ensures your lips will look fabulous, feel comfortable, and stay camera-ready from your morning commute to your evening wind-down. Happy priming

Reviewing Clinique’s 96-Hour Hydro-Filler Concentrate

The skin around our eyes is incredibly delicate, and it’s usually the first place to show signs of stress, dehydration, and fatigue. We all know the feeling. You look in the mirror mid-afternoon (or first thing in the morning after a late night), and your eyes look tired. I first tried Clinique Moisture Surge Eye 96-Hour Hydro-Filler Concentrate when I got a free sample and I instantly got amazed by its effectiveness from the very first use.

First Impressions: Light, Fresh, and Airy

The moment you pump this out, you notice it’s different from a traditional heavy eye cream. The texture is a lightweight, gel-like serum that feels incredibly refreshing on the skin. It glides on like a dream and absorbs almost instantly, no sticky residue, no greasiness. It’s the kind of product that feels like a drink of water for your under-eyes.

The Star Ingredients: A Dynamic Duo

So, what’s actually inside this magic pump? Clinique packed this with some serious heavy-hitters.

  • Niacinamide (Vitamin B3): This is a skincare superstar. It’s fantastic for brightening the skin and evening out tone. For the eye area, this means it helps tackle those dark circles over time, working to make the skin look more radiant and less dull.
  • Caffeine: Caffeine isn’t just for your morning coffee; it’s a powerhouse in skincare. It’s known for its ability to help de-puff and reduce the look of under-eye bags, while also giving the skin a little pick-me-up.
  • Moisture Surge Technology: True to its name, this contains activated aloe water and hyaluronic acid to drench the skin in hydration.

Price & Quantity: Is It Worth It?

The Clinique Moisture Surge Eye 96-Hour Hydro-Filler Concentrate typically retails for around INR 3950 for 15 ml. Now, I know what you’re thinking; that might seem like a splurge for a tiny tube. But here’s the thing, a little goes a very long way with this stuff. Because of its lightweight, serum-like consistency, you only need one tiny pump to cover both eyes. At that rate, this tube is going to last you a solid 3 to 4 months, even with twice-daily use.

Texture & Consistency: A Gel That Disappears

If you are sensitive to heavy textures, this is your new best friend. The texture is unlike any thick, buttery eye cream you’ve tried.

It’s a semi-translucent, bouncy gel that feels almost weightless. As soon as it touches your skin, it has a slight cooling effect (which is amazing for de-puffing in the morning). It spreads like a dream and sinks in within seconds, leaving absolutely zero greasy residue behind. It creates a smooth, velvety base that makeup sits perfectly on top of.

The “96-Hour” Claim: Does It Hold Up?

Let’s address the big promise: 96-Hour Hydration.

It sounds almost too good to be true, right? I have to say, the “Hydro-Filler” part of the name is accurate. This serum acts like a sponge. It visibly plumps the skin, which in turn helps to soften the look of fine lines and crepiness (you know, that crinkly texture we all dread).

While I can’t scientifically measure my hydration levels over four days, I can tell you that with daily use (morning and night), my under-eyes look consistently bouncier and smoother. It creates a perfect base for concealer, too, no more cakey, settling into fine lines by lunchtime.

How to Use It

The best part? It’s foolproof.

  1. Cleanse your face.
  2. Pump a tiny amount onto your fingertip. (A little goes a long way!)
  3. Gently pat it around the entire eye contour, including the orbital bone. Patting (not rubbing) helps stimulate circulation and prevents tugging on the skin.

You can use it morning and night. In the AM, it wakes your eyes up for makeup. In the PM, it works overtime to replenish moisture while you sleep.

My Take: The Final Verdict

If you are looking for an eye product that feels modern, lightweight, and effective, the Clinique Moisture Surge Eye 96-Hour Hydro-Filler Concentrate is a winner. I also love the packaging. This stylish, sleek pump bottle screams luxe. It is travel-friendly too.

Who is it for?

  • The Texture-Haters: Those who hate heavy, thick creams that sit on top of the skin.
  • The Dehydrated: Anyone dealing with dryness, crepey texture, or dehydration lines.
  • The Puffy: People looking to brighten and de-puff in the mornings (thanks to the Niacinamide and Caffeine combo).

Who might skip it?
If you have extremely dry, mature skin that craves a rich, oily balm to feel comfortable, you might find this too light. This is hydration-focused, not heavy moisturization.

For me? I’m obsessed. It proves that you don’t need a thick, greasy product to get serious results. Sometimes, a tall, cool drink of water (in serum form) is exactly what the doctor ordered.

Hope you found this review helpful 🙂

Hyphen All I Need Lipscreen Review: Sun Protection, But Make It Chic

When it comes to skincare, we obsess over sunscreens for the face and body—but what about our lips? They’re one of the most delicate areas and yet, often the most ignored. For my lip pigmentation issue, I was looking for a sun protection for my lips and I found this brand called Hyphen by actress Kriti Shanon. The Hyphen All I Need Lipscreen SPF 30 is a lip balm-meets-sunscreen that promises to keep your pout hydrated and protected and also helps. I tried it out, and here’s everything you need to know before adding it to your routine.

First Impressions

The packaging is sleek, minimal, and very on-brand for Hyphen—clean white tube with a pop of color that feels modern and unisex. It is apparently very similar to Heily Bieber’s Rhode packaging but I have not used any Rhode product, so, can’t comment. It’s small enough to slip into a pocket or bag without fuss. Honestly, it looks more like a premium lip care product than just another chapstick, which I personally love.

Texture & Application

The balm glides on smoothly without tugging—a big plus, because I don’t like waxy, draggy lip balms. The texture is lightweight and leaves behind a subtle sheen, not an overly glossy finish. For those who hate that sticky-lip feeling, this one sits comfortably. But, I do feel a slight tingling and cooling sensation with a sweet taste. Initially it felt a bit weird but now I have got used to it.

Another win? No weird white cast, even though it has SPF 30. You don’t get that chalky look some SPF lip balms leave behind.

Hydration Factor

Formulated with nourishing ingredients like shea butter, vitamin C, and vitamin E, the Lipscreen doesn’t just protect, it also keeps lips soft and moisturized. My lips stayed hydrated for a good few hours, even in air-conditioned rooms that usually dry them out.

If you have super dry or chapped lips, you may need to reapply more frequently, but as an everyday lip protector, it does a solid job.

Sun Protection

This is the hero feature—SPF 30 with broad-spectrum protection. Most people forget that lips are vulnerable to sunburn and pigmentation too. Having sun protection built right into a balm means you’re more likely to use it daily without thinking twice.

Perfect for city wear, commutes, or even vacation. Just reapply every 2–3 hours if you’re outdoors for long stretches.

Pigmentation

It contains Kojic acid which is known to be a magic ingredient for fighting pigmentation. After using this balm I have noticed my lips have become brighter. Obviously this is going to take significant time to get rid of all the pigmentation but so far I have seen some improvement.

Price Point

The Hyphen All I Need Lipscreen comes in at around ₹399 for 4g, which is higher than your average drugstore lip balm but very reasonable for something that doubles as skincare + SPF. Considering the clean formula and stylish packaging, I’d say it hits the sweet spot of affordable luxury.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Lightweight, non-sticky texture
  • SPF 30 with broad-spectrum protection
  • Contains Kojic acid for fighting pigmentation
  • No white cast
  • Hydrating ingredients like shea butter & vitamin E
  • Travel-friendly packaging

Cons:

  • Hydration might not be enough for severely chapped lips
  • Slightly pricier than regular lip balms (but worth it for the SPF)

Final Verdict

If you’re serious about lip care and sun protection, the Hyphen All I Need Lipscreen is a no-brainer. It’s chic, effective, and comfortable to wear every day. Think of it as the lip balm upgrade you didn’t know you needed.

Rating: 4.7/5

Best For: Daily lip hydration + sun protection
⚠️ Not Ideal For: Severely chapped lips that need a heavier overnight treatment

Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream – Review

Hello! Here I am with another review of one of the very popular Korean skincare product. I have heard a lot of good reviews about the beauty of Joseon products. A little history here. Beauty of Joseon is a brand that has reinterpreted the unchanging beauty and the traditional methods from nature in a modern way according to the wisdom of Joseon women. Based on the ‘Gyuhap Chongseo’, 100-year-old book which is referred to as the encyclopedia of the Joseon Dynasty, they have included the beauty methods of women from, the uppermost classes of the Joseon Dynasty.People of the Joseon Dynasty regarded flashy adornment to be obscene and low class. As a result, women from, noble families put on makeup with minimal colors and focused more on creating clean and clear skin rather than on applying makeup and adorning themselves. Well, even now Korean products are more focused on creating clean and clear skin. This is what I love about them.

Anyway I have tried the famous ‘Dynasty’ cream from Beauty of Joseon and I am wondering why I didn’t purchase this earlier! Okay, so let me tell you all about it.

Price and Quantity:

The dynasty cream is widely available on Tira, Amazon and on Nykaa. The printed MRP is around Rs 2050 for a 50ml tub but I found it at 10% discount on Tira beauty.

Product Description:

From the brand page, “This all-in-one cream is filled with good-for-skin ingredients like rice bran water, ginseng water, squalane, and niacinamide. These ingredients help to keep your skin healthy, hydrated, and balanced. Its firm texture sinks into your skin, providing moisture and nourishment from deep within.

Long-lasting moisture
Enriched with 2% niacinamide and 2% squalane, it balances oil and moisture and protects skin from external stimuli.

Subtle glow finish
This cream provides a gentle, glowy finish.
It creates a natural and healthy glow when used with foundation.

Key ingredients

Rice bran water 29%
Rice bran is the finest inner bran of milled rice. In the Joseon Dynasty, rice bran water was used like the toner of today. It was called ‘Beauty Water’, used for beautiful skin. Rice bran, rich in amino acids, minerals, and vitamin E, helps to keep the skin moist and healthy.

Ginseng root water 5%

My Take on the Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream:

Packaging: Completely fuss free simple packaging. It comes in a white transparent glass tub with a white lid. There is a small spatula to help you take out the product.

Ingredients: The first 4 primary ingredients are water, rice bran water, glycerin and ginseng root water. Just looking at this ingredient list I can say that the focus is on hydration and locking moisture in the skin. It also contains 2% niacinamide and 2% squalene which are again quite nice on the ingredient list. It is a fragrance free product too.

Texture: It has a velvety, creamy texture which feels really luxurious on the skin. It gets absorbed easily without making my skin oily. It blends very easily and can be used as a moisturizing primer. It instantly gives a glow after application! My skin looks nourished and hydrated. I have applied it as a night cream and every morning when I wake up my skin feels amazingly smooth and soft after using this.

Am I going to repurchase this? Absolutely yes! For oily skin beauties finding a good balanced moisturizer is really hard! This one will work for dry, combination and oily skin people across the year. Maybe if you have super dry skin, I will not recommend it for winter but it can be a good product for summer.

L’Occitane Facial Cleansing Oil – Review

I have been searching for a good facial cleansing oil aka makeup remover for quite some time. I was using the Plum E-Luminence Simply supple cleansing balm as a makeup remover but since I am almost done with it, I wanted to try something new. Recently I came across the L’Occitane’s Facial Cleansing Oil and bought the mini version to give it a try. Here is my quick review on that.

Price and Quantity:

Usually L’Occitane’s products are quite expensive but the good news is that they have a mini version of the facial cleansing oil which is affordable. The 30 ml bottle comes at Rs 400 and trust me this 30 ml bottle will go a long way. I just need a pea size amount to cover my entire face. So, if you are someone who doesn’t put a lot of makeup frequently, go for the mini version. The 200 ml bottle comes for Rs 2150. Also, L’Occitane gives a lot of freebies/trial packs. So watch out for them. You can get this facial cleansing oil at Nykaa or at the official L’Occitane website as well. But, I noticed their official website doesn’t have the mini version.

L'Occitane's Facial Cleansing Oil

Product Description:

Infused with anti-ageing immortelle and soothing calendula flowers from the south of France, L’Occitane’s Facial Cleansing Oil – a pH friendly make-up remover leaves skin feeling cleansed, smoother, energised and purified from daily urban grime.

When it comes into contact with water, it transforms from a silky smooth oil into a milky emulsion that is gentle on the skin but tough on make-up and impurities like pollution. Immediately, skin feels fresh and the complexion is clear. Day after day, skin becomes more supple and soft.

Non-comedogenic. Tolerance tested under dermatological and ophthalmological supervision.

Ingredients:

Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil – Peg-40 Sorbitan Peroleate – Isopropyl Isostearate – Caprylic/capric Triglyceride – Coco-caprylate/caprate – Parfum/fragrance – Helichrysum Italicum Extract – Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract – Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil – Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Oil – Tocopherol.

My Take on the L’Occitane Facial Cleansing Oil:

Packaging: The packaging is very minimal. The mini version of the facial cleansing oil comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a navy blue pump. There is no outer cap to protect the pump but unless you press it accidentally there is no chance of leakage. The pump allows you to take out the exact tiny amount you need. It is quite travel friendly.

Texture/Color/Odor: It is simply like an oil but the oil is smooth, spreads easily all over face. Doesn’t have a grainy texture. It has a typical herbal smell but there is no added fragrance to it. It doesn’t irritate my nose or my skin.

Did it do the job? yes, it did and did it absolutely perfectly. let me first tell you how this should be used. I take only one pump(just a pea size amount) on my palm when I am using liner, mascara, foundation, concealer ( in short full face of makeup). If you are using just say liner and maybe some concealer you will need just half a pump. After that, I spread it all over my face and gently massage. It doesn’t feel sticky at all. Then I add a just a few drops of water on my face and the oil turns into a milky emulsion. Some more gentle massage and poof! all the makeup is gone. I wash my face with water and also do a double cleanse with a very mild cleanser from Cetaphil. If you don’t want to double cleanse, that is also totally fine. This oil based cleanser doesn’t make my skin greasy or oily at all. It actually looks nourished afterwards because it balances the pH level of the facial skin. The advantage of using such oil based cleanser is that it doesn’t strip off the natural oil of our skin and doesn’t make the skin extremely dry. Every time my skin looks smooth and glowing after I use this.

Another very important point regarding which I was very cautious is that it does not irritate my eyes. Even the waterproof mascara or eye liner comes off so easily without irritating my eyes. The formula is absolutely praiseworthy.

If you are someone who gets extremely anxious to remove all the heavy makeup when you come back home very tired, please give this a try. This is amazing!

Am I going to repurchase this?

This is for sure going to be a staple in my makeup bag. I actually didn’t find any cons for this product. Anyone with a dry or oily skin can use this. You can always do a double cleanse afterwards with a mild cleanser but the L’Occitane’s Facial Cleansing Oil has definitely made my life so much easier. I am going to buy this again.

The Inkey List Alpha Arbutin Serum | Remedy for Hyperpigmentation| Review

My battle with hyperpigmentation has been quite a struggle. Even though I am quite particular about using sunscreen and maintaining an effective skincare routine, I was not like this when I was in college. At that time, I absolutely hated applying anything on my skin. No skincare, no makeup. I also had severe acne issues, like most teenagers and young adults. Now that I am very much invested into my skincare regime and have a fair idea about what works for my skin, I have been doing a lot of research to find out what actually can help me to get rid of hyperpigmentation. I have tried a lot of natural, homemade remedies but they did not work as much as I expected. Finally, my relentless search led me to a great product to put up a good fight with hyperpigmentation and that product is the Inkey List Alpha Arbutin Serum which contains 2% Alpha Arbutin and 0.5% Squalene. I saw some great results and here is my review.

What is Alpha-Arbutin?

Alpha-Arbutin is a derivative of hydroquinone which has skin lightening properties. Now hydroquinone is banned in many countries due to its potential side effects but Alpha-Arbutin is not banned and it is safe to use everyday. Alpha Arbutin has depigmenting properties similar to hydroquinone. It works on age spots, acne spots and any sort of dark spot. We encounter dark spots in our skin from an enzyme called tyrosinase which is responsible for secreting melanin. The melanocytes cells in our get triggered when the skin encounters UV light for a longer period resulting in freckles and sunspots. Now, Alpha arbutin gets transformed into hydroquinone in our skin over time and it impedes tyrosinase and thus prevents creating any further dark spots and also improves the appearance of existing dark spots.

The fact that Alpha arbutin gets transformed into hydroquinone in our skin, it is less potent than the original hydroquinone and thus does not have much risk of side effects. It is also available without prescription as a topical cream/serum.

In this post, I am particularly going to review the Inkey List Alpha Arbutin Serum which contains 2% Alpha Arbutin.

Price:

This product is not available in India at the moment. I bought it from StyleDotty for Rs 1638 for the 30ml tube. You can get it from a lot of Instagram sellers who source products from UK/US/Canada. It’s original price in the Inkey List website is $12.99. One 30 ml tube should last you for 6-8 weeks as you just need a pea size amount everyday.

Product Description (From the Inkey List’s website):

A concentrated 2% Alpha Arbutin serum to help reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation and dark spots and keep skin at an optimal hydration level. Derived from the leaves of the bearberry plant, this non irritating serum helps to brighten the skin and improve overall skin tone. Added Squalane helps to increase skin hydration and smoothness.

Targets:

  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Scarring
  • Uneven Skin Tone
  • Redness

My take on the Inkey List Alpha Arbutin Serum:

The Brand: Inkey List is a UK brand which focuses on ingredient driven skincare. Their moto is kind of similar to the Ordinary. They focus on one or two ingredients for effectively targeting specific skin concerns. Their products are vegan and cruelty free.

Packaging: They have a minimal packaging but the serum comes in a tube which seemed very inconvenient to me. Almost every time I take out more product than I actually intended. I would have preferred it to come in a bottle with a dropper. Not sure if they had a scientific reason to package it in a tube. I also saw some leakage issue as I did not screw the cap tightly enough. Overall, I found this tube like packaging quite inconvenient.

Texture and smell: It is fragrance free which I absolutely loved. The consistency is actually watery and not like a gel. In their website the color of this serum was milky white but surprisingly when I received the product it was already oxidized and turned into chocolate brown color. I got to know that a lot of other people also experienced the same and the Inkey list also addressed the issue and clarified that it is totally okay to turn into brown as it contains natural ingredients. It does not impact its efficacy and rightly so, it worked on my skin totally and did not cause me any irritation.

Ingredients: The ingredient list looks solid. I did not spot any problematic ingredient. Water (aqua / eau), Butylene glycol, Propanediol, Glycerin, Alpha-arbutin, Dicaprylyl carbonate, Caprylic/capric triglyceride, Phenoxyethanol, Hydroxyethyl acrylate/sodium acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer, Caprylyl glycol, Squalane, Phospholipids, Glycine soja (soybean) oil, Carbomer, Polysorbate 60, Sodium phytate, Glycolipids, Sorbitan isostearate, Leuconostoc/radish root ferment filtrate, Sodium hydroxide, Glycine soja (soybean) sterols, Hyaluronic acid, Tocopherol.

Performance: Now coming to the most important part, did it deliver? Yes, it did. I am writing this review after using it for 6 weeks as recommended and I can see some of my very stubborn dark spots have lightened up significantly. I don’t know if you can see it clearly in the photo, but some of the spots I had were quite prominent but now they have faded at least by 70%. I used to have some red spots around my nose, I can hardly spot them now. I am definitely going to continue to use it. It delivered!

It is very easy to spread on my skin because of its runny consistency. You can use it both at AM and PM. After cleansing, preferably use a hyaluronic acid based product and then after waiting for a minute or so apply the Inkey List Alpha Arbutin Serum. You can apply your moisturizer after this or use you sunscreen as well but just give it some time to fully absorb into your skin. You can skip the moisturizer too because it has squalene in it which also gives the skin the required moisture it needs.

Hope you found this review helpful :)Let me know what you use for hyperpigmentation, in the comments section.

I have never been a powder person. I am talking about any type of powder here like talcum powder or setting powder or loose powder. However, the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder has changed my view. It’s been a life-saver for an oily skin girl in a super humid weather. I have used the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Setting Spray previously and has been in love with it. The Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder didn’t disappoint either, in fact it surpassed my expectation.

Price

The 8 gm product retails for Rs 4300 on Nykaa website. I know it is too pricey. They also have a mini version which costs around Rs 2500. They have a refillable version too available on their brand website but I don’t think they have launched it in India yet.

Sweet almond oil and rose wax help to promote smoothness and moisture of the skin. How to Use

Using the Powder & Sculpt Brush, apply Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder around the nose, T-zone and any other oily areas that need to be mattified. This can be used on top of any Concealer or any Foundations to set them.

My Take on the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Powder

Packaging – This powder comes in a beautiful rose gold metallic case with a mirror and the CT logo. It is very lightweight but the downside is that it does not contain any applicator/sponge. This felt really inconvenient to me. Often I forget to carry a separate brush for the setting powder while travelling. I think for a high-end product at this price point, this is a let down. Also, I noticed the outer side of the compact is very prone to attract finger prints which makes it look very messy sometimes.

Texture – The texture of the powder is silky smooth. It is definitely very fine milled as claimed by Charlotte herself. It spreads like a dream on the face and honestly I never really feel that I applied powder on my face. It gives a matt finish but does not make the skin look dry at all. Since I have oily skin, I have noticed that after an hour or so my face looks dewy with a subtle glow and I absolutely love that. It gives my skin that healthy natural glow and also keeps my makeup underneath it totally as it is.

Does it do the job? yes and it is amazing at it. Here are the Pros of Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder

  • The powder blends like a dream. It is finely milled and the texture feels silky smooth.
  • It sets the makeup instantly and keeps it that way for 5-6 hours.
  • Although it mattifies the skin at the beginning but after a while it leaves a beautiful radiant glow to the face once it blends with the natural oil of our face. However, it does not look greasy or oily at all. More like a soft dewy finish with a healthy glow.
  • Hides the pores around my nose. Does not crease. Does not make my makeup appear cakey.

Are their any Cons? Unfortunately yes but still I will give this product a 8.5 out of 10 and I am definitely going to repurchase it.

  • It is quite expensive.
  • It does not have any applicator. Disappointed 😦
  • They have only 4 shades – Fair/Medium/Tan/Deep. I think for average Indian skin tone, the fair one is too fair. I purchased the medium and it is somewhat a neutral shade. I think they can introduce a few more other shades like their other product ranges.
